the power vision does have a 'box' that stores tunes, flashes your bike, and can perform diagnostic functions and clear and display error codes.  but it is not needed to stay on your bike once you've flashed your tune. 

a power commander like the pc3 or pcv, is a box that mounts to your bike's ecm.

scott,  the power vision is not an add on 'box'.  it is a flash based tuner, just like the tts.  and just like any other flash based tuner, the magic is in the tune.  good tune, good result.  bad tune, bad result....

One of the main reasons I went with the PV is because if you keep it on the bike you get a full complement  of electronic gauges and engine data. Real time or as close to real time as possible.
