From Anne July 19th:
After yesterdays meandering through the green and golden wheat fields-truely AMERICA the BEAUTIFUL-and my favorite flavor of the day"BARNS" four best friends decided on two different adventures, With aching hearts and tears in our eyes, Chris and I decided that to be true to ourselves our path was to take us north to ALASKA. We bid MELANIE & ROGER safe journey........So we miss our friends, hit torential down pours-but did our solo treck back to OMAK, WASHINGTON and proceeded NORTH on "97" to the Canadian border-crossing uneventfully at OROVILLE, BRITISH COLOMBIA! YEH!!! ALASKA BOUND ! Another 100 kilometers, through a valley gourge with a fruit-basket of orchards-and berries too at road-side-huge rocky mountains surrounding. We picniced at a fruitstand table adding cherries, blueberries and apricots to what we had collected at the Best-Western breakfast-room this morning, (You know-the regular loot-peanutbutter, cream cheese, bagels & hard-boiled eggs) Ahh to be on the road again! Tonight we are in PRINCETON, BC. Tomorrow our goal is PRINCE GEORGE, BC
Skies are getting dark(storm arriving)-Chris is snug in bed(listening to me curse at the computer) and as soon as I post these pic's so will I be-over and out, love Annie note to Dave: We hear you are posting to the forum-we would love it if you would continue!!! Thanks C&A
