From Anne July 23rd:
Journeyed another 400 miles today! Yes, temps. did go as high as 76 degrees, sun out-it was those vicious thunder-heads we could see gaining momentum across the countryside, over bodies of water that continued to slam us! Exciting huh?? Camping tonight in WHITEHORSE with a generation that popped from the 60's-70's or the new generation of HIPPIES! WOW!!! Talks of travels and life wishes waif by me as I type away my own adventures of the day. 11pm still light with a strange sort of shadow cast upon this stage-I've made friends with the mosquitoes - just smiling inside........ Stats for the day: One strawberry/blond fox(no pic) Three large either mountain sheep or goats(no pics), Three motorcycle riders(the kind you meet at each GAS stop or road construction event), Numerous guys with STOP SIGNS etc...My choice of perfume has become DEET and Chris and I shared a magnificent BUMBLE-BEE PIE (rhubarb/blackberry/apple) with ice cream at DAWSON'S LANDING. Life is just so GRAND!! We will make ALASKA tomorrow. As the clouds now turn orange I guess this is a sign that the sun has decided to set-and me too! Climbing into our tent now where my exhausted husband sleeps soundly-now for hours. SWEET DREAMS TO ALL, Annie
