cvo 2010 SG  big heads and cams all good stuff , i had to shut down today, i heard a loud chatter in the rear head, checked the push rod, it was ok , pulled the rocker cover off, didn't see anything that looked outa place, any ideas it was runnig strong until the noise

Check your compression...  Could be a valve/valve guide/valve seat....

gotta be more descriptive very important to aid in understanding your problem what kind of chatter does it still run or did you shut her off are you sure it was coming from the rear head sound not transfering that way did it change with rpm etc etc need full story

Pushrod lock nut came loose?
Broken valve spring??

the chatter sounds like it is in the rear head, bike will start and run,just got very noisy all the sudden

Sometimes,  when you shut it off and the cam is riding on the lifter at a certain point,  the lifter will drain (collapse).   My old RK did that once after a return (trailered) trip from Daytona Bike Week.

Ran just fine going into the trailer,  but sounded like something was broken once I cranked it up after the trip.

Try just riding (easy-going) for a few miles around your neighborhood  or some back road.   If it was just a collapsed lifter,  it will gradually pump itself back up and the noise will go away and all is well.

Of course,  if that's not the problem,   you may really have a problem
