With the breather off:  I think you can see the backplate looks very similar to the one you have above...

Thanks Greg, I think that it's similar.
I'll order one and I'll put a feedback with pics not before the end of August.

After seeing this thread when it started, I called my local dealer and he actually had one in stock.
I went right down to buy it and put in on my 08' SERK that day.
WOW !  It looks SO much better than the black wrinkle finish one.

Thanks for starting this thread and giving the part number !   :2vrolijk_21:

Always got to help a brother out. Ay?

Edited my August 2 post.  Delay's OK.  The box says it's Made in USA.

Have a warning for those installing this piece.  It requires removal of the Heavy Breather down to the Backplate.  If you have one of the older heavy breathers, the adapter ring is a soft rubber ring which accommodates the 58mm breather tube to the stock 50mm intake.  See here:  SE Heavy Breather Instructions, page four, part #29395-08A.  This ring has now been retro-designed by HD and is now ballistic plastic so that is will not collapse and get sucked into your intake butterfly under full throttle like mine did.   :nervous:   :nervous:  On the new kits, its glued to the intake tube and can't come off.  It's probably worth the time to replace the old part as mine could have gone farther into the engine and caused damage.  Luckily, my motor died and the fault codes all pointed to an issue with the throttle body so I was only down for 1/2 day.  Still had to get towed to a dealer on my way to Coulterville to meet up with JC, Terrie and some of the Nor. Cal crew.

Thanks very much for the info Greg.  You've probably prevented some future heartache for some of us.

Am I a Chromoholic?

You're going to hate me for this but:  No! You're not.  Why you ask?  You still have Cadmium bolts rather than Chrome plated stainless.  See here:  Gardner-Westcott Company.   :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:
