I just installed the Full Sack exhaust - Sounds great - Seat of the pants the bike feels crisper with that alone. Perhaps tomorrow I'll down load the map supplied by Full sack.   Tom

Get a hold of a set of stock bagger head pipes if you haven't already. The catalysts in the originals make the bike run hot. I haven't had any overheating issues down here in Florida. I am running 2" Fullsacs.

You know my dealer said to do the same thing and like I told him it is a shame we spend so much for the bike that we have to make them run cooler also.  He just looked a me like i was crazy..  I guess he got what he wanted and that was the sale....

Get rid of some of that compression, and you'll get rid of the PMS.  :nixweiss:

What compression...110's don't have compression issues, to my knowledge.

The exhaust replacement is not a big deal at all if you have basic tools.  The bike will run better, sound better, and run a bit cooler.  Don't expect miracles on the heat though...these 110" motors are just hot running when it gets hot outside.

I hate to even mention this, but sometimes a better oil will help the noises on the top in a little...again, don't expect too much, but some improvement.  If you're not already doing so, I'd recommend putting task specific fluids in the tranny, primary, and crankcase.  A lot of folks here use Redline products, and that is what I personally prefer as well, particularly the Redline Shockproof for the transmission...it makes a difference in shifting, finding neutral, etc.
You can find their products here:  http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/RedLineOilBigTwin20W50Powerpack/Motorcycle_Oil_Powerpacks

You'll need to add one more quart of primary oil if you get the PowerPack Kit...the funnel is handy, and you get a hat... ::)

It's good stuff...there's other good stuff too, but it's hard to beat their transmission oil, so I'd at least get that.  Mobil 1 Vtwin is good for the motor and easier to find, but I just order the Redline stuff and be done with it.

X2 on this point. I used the Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof on my last bike and it made a difference. IMHO it makes sense to use oils that are designed for a specific function. Not a big fan of 'one size fits all' fluids.

Two items as noted below:  Tune with an air cleaner helps tremendously, also the engine management system that cuts the rear cylinder off is an owner adjustable seating, turn it off and run the rear cylinder otherwise loses power at start...

I got to ride 180 miles today - Down to the Jersey Shore - The Fullsac stage 1 is impressive!! Although it was only 85 deg or so, I felt the difference in the hear coming off the engine. The bike also pulls harder in the low to mid range.

 :2vrolijk_21: for Fullsac.

08 softail CVO springer with V&H 2-2 big radius, SERT and dyno tune averaging upper 40's mpg city/highway combined riding in upper 90's temps, Mobil 1 engine oil and the highest oil temps I've seen yet have been 205-215 degrees.  No issues IMHO. Maybe its that my bike has no fairings or heat shields allowing more air flow around engine. Is it just you baggers having the heat issues or am I just lucky?
