When Indian Larry died lots of people were saying "He died doing what he loved" etc...
We should ask his wife if she would have preferred that he died being free and looking cool, or wore a helmet and survived.

She probably would have preferred he did not ride his bike standing on the seat with no hands on the bars????

"Indian Larry, wearing a protective suit but not a helmet, was standing on his bike as he went down the parking lot in a crowd-pleasing routine and may have been blinded by the sun; he fell and hit his head."

Press release in 2004 with a quote from Timothy White, a photographer and friend of Indian Larry...

If you routinely ride the bike as if it was a surfboard... a helmet might be a good idea. Just sayin'

That clips sums it all up.  What we do on two wheels is crazy enough,,, the helmetless riders can figure the rest out.   I'm done, :nixweiss:

This thread just captivates me.  Let those who wish to ride without a helmet (provided the are following their state laws) then do so.  For me, I have a great wife and four children that rely on me therefore I do not take "added" risk.  Oh, and for those who will say riding a motorcycle is excessive risk I say riding without a helmet one ups me.  Everyone enjoy your CVO's  :2vrolijk_21:

X2 -----   It just amazes me how many people are so concerned about what other people do that has no effect on them. All the talk in the world is not going to change the mind of those that want to "choose".  If you want to wear a helmet ------ wear it.  If you choose not to wear it----- leave it at home. Now, what is so difficult about that, in the 30 states that say it is "legal" to do so??? :nixweiss:

If you live in Delaware, as this thread was originally about, even if you don't want to wear it you can't leave it at home... you must carry it with you.

I know a guy that got a ticket in PA (New Hope) for having a non DOT helmet after he crossed back in too PA from NJ. How can you get a ticket for a non DOT helmet when you don't even have to wear one in PA?
