For those viewing this thread who may want information on setting amplifier gains, this link is useful:

http://www.bcae1.com/gaincon2.htm

That is a great site Carl  - it can be a bit "daunting" to go through it all but the site is like the "Prego" ad ..
If you'd like to learn more about mobile audio ... "It's in there!"

JL Audio is one of the most obsessive companys I've dealt with when it comes to SQ. They really are fanatical about it. Here is the JL Audio method for adjusting gains:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/gainSetting.pdf

Combine the "bcae1" site with the refined method from JL Audio (if you'd like to get that precise) and I would think a given system would be about as spot on as possible. Always keep in mind that adjusting gains on an amp is about getting the best performance out of an audio system. It's like putting your amps on a dyno  ;)

If there was any way possible I would have installed an MHD400/4 on the bike - alas - just 1.5" width too big. The procedure laid out is not for the impatient, but is one of the best. Even if you don't plan on going through it to this detail it's still a good read to help understand the goal.

Hahahaha!  Yes, another exaggerating egotist poking his head into my thread for the purpose of demonstrating his attitude of superiority.  Scratching my head begging for help? Proclaiming myself a wizard?   How about asking a simple question after hours when no tech support is available.  A question I failed to get answered here.  Your reading comprehension may be even worse than the other guy, and that's saying something!  hahaha.  Guess ill never get any help from you, eh pal?  Whatever will I do?!!!  :huepfenlol2:
To earn the title of an exaggerating egotist, by definition, wouldn't one need to reference themselves pompously in some manner?  Seem odd, but upon review of this thread, looks like you're the only one that matches your observation?  To the contrary, seems you got an awful lot of great friendly advice and in turn you've been a prick to everyone. I can't fathom how you truly feel the question failed to get answered. Whatever.

I'd print this thread of 'yours', and pin it to your chest. That and a bib might help you win the butakee contest next time.

No. All you need to do is stand in judgment of self proclaimed trumped up charges with an air of superiority. You are doing a fine job of this!  Now, do you have anything to offer as to the topic?  I thought not. Nothing but repulsive perversity!   Misspelled at that! I would expect nothing less from you MrMagloo!  I am sure you are very proud of yourself!

I would delete the thread if I had the option. My problem was solved a long time ago by ARC tech support.   Many other forums offer the OP the option of deleting the thread by deleting the first post.  This one does not.  So I might as well enjoy the repartee!  There has indeed been some friendly advice here, (not from you) but if you think my question was answered here then you need to reread the thread. Might keep you away from the disgusting porn for a few extra minutes!.... ;)

Cheers!

How did I guess you'd know how to spell it?    ;)

I suppose if you ask one of the mods they will be happy to delete the thread.  Alternatively, this might help:

I had know idea what it was until I googled it. That's when I noted the incorrect  spelling. Obviously you were going from memory (which in itself is rather disturbing.)  Yuck. Very perverse.  Classy.

How can I delete the thread now that i have found out that I don't own it and that this trainwreck  "belongs to the community"     I just want to get along and be a part of your clique.....  After all, where else would you be able to vomit your obscure perversions if I don't provide the venue?   :coolblue:

Cheers!
