We all know its personal preference in color choice but what are your thoughts on the Orange and Red.
Things like,
Color combinations (orange/brown vs maroon/ruby)
Custom look
Is the brown very dark like nearly black or more brown looking?
Is the ruby red very bright?
And anything else you can add.

We don't get any color samples or catalogs in Australia, its site unseen so makes it very hard to choose when you have 2 favourites.

This is coming from a person who was high on the hot citrus:
Positives for me:
1. Looks very custom
2. Colors blend well
3. Orange is not orange, its more of a bright sun color of orange, color changes as your visual position changes
4. Stripes match well
5. Flames show up great in all areas
6. Gray engine paint blends well with body color
7. Black seat and black parts blend well
8. Painted dash looks very custom
9. Looks special like a CVO should
10. It's different, has high visibility

Negatives for me:

1. It's really bright and loud in color
2. Dash brightness will require good sun glasses
3. Chrome being bright and bright paint may be to much for me. Almost to much shine for me.
4. I feel like I would get tired of the color after two of three years
5. The brown is brown, not sure about that color on a Harley for me.

After seeing one in person, I liked it but I think the red suits me better at my middle age. This is my best assessment based on my decision to wait on a red bike. I'm not trying to offend the hot citrus owners, it's very custom, it's beautiful but it's maybe more for me if I was 25 years if age. It's a want to be seen bike! You can guarantee everyone will want to see it and discuss it with you. If a thief is in the market to pick a bike off, this one will stand out!

The orange stood out to me more. It was VERY bright in the sun and popped. The paint scheme to me is more of what I expect in a "custom" (more than my 11 anyway). I really like the ghost flames.

I will have to agree that the dash may be a problem in the sun. It looked really cool but it seems sunglasses are a must. We rode to Sturgis through the heat bubble in Texas/Ok and with no clouds in the sky, I cannot imagine being behind that dash for 12 hours. It's very cool looking at it in the lot but on the road it may be different.

I was standing right next to the red but honestly can't recall much since I was so focused on the orange.

I think, I have not seen one in person, that the ruby red will be much like the darker color that was available in 2011. Very rich and deep in color with less of a custome look. That why I feel it's the color for me.

Pictures of the Red and Orange Side by Side will give us an idea of colors in the same light.

   Yulp..I think MOCO just got the name wrong. Hot Citrus to me should be a bright stand out color, like the 2010 Tequila Sunrise or my Electric Orange Road Glide..

   The dealer was trying to sell me a $38,000 sound system, not the machine.

I guess everyone sees colors different...to me this is NOT copper; not even close. This Hot Citrus was also on the 2010 CVO Ultra and IMHO one of the best colors Harley has ever done. That CVO Ultra was fantastic and also was the most desirable that year.

n your opinion how bright is the Ruby Red to Hot Citrus.

If we were to compare them to the standard colors what would be the closest colors to these customs.

Typhoon Maroon would be close to?
Ruby Red would be close to?
Hot Citrus would be close to?
Antique Gunstock would be close to?

I can then go to my local dealer and look at the standard color chart to get an idea of what I will be looking at in the flesh.
Gee its hard when you have no choice to see what you are getting and what to make sure the right color is selected when it turns up in 5 months time.

Although the pictures I have seen of the Ruby are fantastic, just need to see the same in the Citrus.

I had a deposit on this one in Houston until I looked at it today..the color is actually copper. I ll just keep my orange and black Road Glide

Trust me, it is definitely not copper!  I think Tangerine pretty much sums it up, and the sun really makes it pop!  Very generous supply of metal flake in both the Citrus and Gunstock.
