a few minuets ago a earthquake hit from Virginia to New York.

I am sitting at my desk and would have never known unless for the Phone calls and facebook.

We also had a few here along the CO/NM border. I think the strongest was a 5.0.

We felt it up here in Ontario.Buildings shook, plates rattled.

Definitely felt here in Norfolk area. They evacuated buildings in downtown Norfolk. Local news says it was a 5.8 to 6.0.....epicenter near Charlottesville Va.

Two nuclear reactors at Lake Anna were shut down too and are on generator power now.

They are saying the latest hurricane will probably hit N.C. and then go through us this weekend.....always something I guess?

As the crow flies, I'm 50-60 miles from the epicenter near Mineral, VA. That was my first quake. The building looked like rubber... walls wobbling... phone poles and light poles outside were wobbling all around. Lasted maybe 30 seconds. Haven't had any aftershocks so far.

Cell phone service was overwhelmed within minutes, but texting still worked. I went and checked on my wife and went home and looked the house over. I haven't seen any damage, just some stuff moved around on shelves and crooked pictures on the walls.

That really freaked me out....

felt it in Westford MA. checked in with d00D he was driving and did not feel it, but his wife called him saying she felt it. said FD is getting a lot of calls

I believe that I felt it here in Vermont.  Was sitting at my desk and felt the building shaking.  Thought to myself, that I odd, I have never felt the building shake like that.  About 30 minutes later I saw the news.

We're outside of Roanoke, VA and our detached shop/garage was swaying.  No damage but pretty freaky.    Local weather is reporting 5.8.    Mother Earth is pretty peeved.
