Top end noise
« on: August 26, 2011, 05:56:03 AM »

Just wanted to check on the noise, I have read that they are noisy but this is almost bordering ridiculous. Only 700 miles and was wondering if during the 1k service the valves and such would get adjusted? I came off of a TC88 so this is my comparison just wanted others opinions.

If it's a 110 they will tell you it's normal - but it aint.  And yes, it's embarassingly loud, makes you think you're on a Shovel or iron Sportster.

If it is a characteristic of most 110's then it is normal.  Is it annoying?  Yes.  Has your motor failed or any other motor due to the noise?  If not then I would say it is safe.  Should Harley redesign it to 'fix it'?  Probably.
