Anyone else disapointed in the Boom Audio for RG?
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:12:52 PM »

I have had my 12 Skunk for little over 2 weeks now and must admit I am gravely disappointed :sauer055: in the Boom audio "4 speaker" set up. :soapbox:

The system distorts horribly and mid level. At first I thought it was the music I play, modern rock, but after playing better than CD quality music through the iPod it distorts bad on the mid range of any music to include playing a CD.

I have adjust the "EQ" and taken out most of the bass setting and it still sounds like crap. The 4 tweeters in the system are great, thats all I hear now. There is no depth to the sound at all.

I am not a very loud music person but this is ridiculous.  I had Hawg tunes on my SG with out an amp and it sounded a ton better!

I have thought about J&M but I dont want to loose the "in the gauge tweeter", maybe a different amp?

Any recommendations?

soon2b1 ,,,,,,

no reason to lose the in-gauge tweeter with the J&M amplifier and speakers ,,,, we upgraded 3 or 4 of CVO StreetGlides at Sturgis to J&M 500w systems and made full utilization of the Harley factory in-fairing tweeters ,,,,,

John,

thanks for the reply. I am considering the saddle bag lids with the 7" for the fronts. What all do I need?
