Scott...what did he use to get the platform onto the lift gate?  I like the idea of the bike being on a skid like that...looks well thought out.

There are wheels under the platform on a foot lever that raise and lower.  So you can easily roll the platform around on the wheels, then drop the platform off the wheels when in position.

I like Keyboard because they specialize in motorcycles - and are reasonably priced.  I believe Charlotte to Northern Illinois was under $500...

Good advice from all.

Noted that dealer may be able to help in transaction for a small fee.  I have a call in to the manager about that. 

Going with the bank transfer or overnighted check, and getting him to fax title copy as soon as he gets back into town.  Will also ask him to overnight the title once he gets confirmation of payment or receives the check.  Will use dealer since Keyboard says now on their site they won't deliver/pickup to residences anymore.  The guy I talked to on the phone said they will though only if you are on a through street since their trucks are the big ones and can't turn around in culdesacs like mine. 

Hey sadunbar, that looks like a smaller truck, did they do that for you recently?  If so I may try to get them to bring a smaller truck to deliver mine if they can.  I'd rather have it unloaded at my house if possible.

Nope...it was a semi.  The picture is misleading as to its size.  They'll likely unload it in front of a neighbor's house if you ask...  It's only getting into an area that won't allow them clear access in and out that will prevent them from unloading at your house.

Hey Magloo..  re.  If all else falls through, I am about 50 to 60 miles away, and might be able to help. Better yet, get me a one way ticket home, and cover my expenses, and I'll ride it to you!

Like I said, man up and ride it back yourself. I guaranty you'll be glad you did.  It's a great experience, and you get to save a little dough to boot.

Heck 1,000 miles is nothing. I did Sturgis at 920 miles from Chicago straight through in one day, no problemo!

Dude you don't understand.  I would love to ride it home.  If I leave to go get it all my crap will be out in the yard when I get back and the locks will be changed.  My wife can't know about it 'till it shows up at the door man.  It ain't about bein' a man, it's about how I can't afford to get a divorce lol.
