I think this may be the same dealer that I talked to a few years ago about an 06 cvo fatboy the guy would not budge on the msrp... at that time he had a few cvo that were a year or two old....

Think he was down to around $20k on this bike so he was willing to give a little. Just.a shame to see a nice new bike sit there for so long. Probably has a complex by now. It needs a good home!

I'd ask to see a new battery put in it. :D

I hope a dealer like that pays for the greed. :2vrolijk_21: I might have to ask if he makes more selling them or storing them. :P

My 08 SEUC Kasper that I traded in with 48,000 miles sat at the dealer for a year and they finally sent it off to auction and they still cant sell it. It is a very sad situation!!!! They are trying to get a good price for it because it is a CVO but everyone wants to pay a nickel for it because everyone thinks its just like any other Harley. :(

The new CVO distribution system now punishes dealerships with older CVO's that are not sold.  When a dealership gets their allotment of 2012 CVO’s they are then deducted 1 new 2012 for each 2011, 2010, 2009, etc they have on the showroom floor unsold.  HD is trying to motivate dealerships to unload CVO’s or they don’t get new ones.

That's rediculous. I have only been in the Harley world since 09 so I can only speak from that point but I saw the Dyna Fatbobs all over the place in 2010 as late as the 2011 arrivals. I bought one of them on an out of town trip after getting the price I wanted. One dealer in East TN had a  SERG from '11 just sell a month ago. I have heard some dealers say the RG is tougher to sell than the UC.

I am sure they sell them all eventually, it's not like they are going to take them to the scrap metal yard. Tell that dealer to call me if he really wants to unload that '08. I'll give him $3000.LOL

Based upon personal experience, I'd say that offer will be a bit on the high side for what you'll have left after replacing all the inherent factory garbage !

I'm assuming this only applies if the old unsold CVO's are under MOCO floor planning?

1 dealers in my area have a red and a gray 2011 cvo Road Glides and at least 1 cvo convertable on the floor. Another has 2 reds and 1 gray 2011 RG'S and several
2011 converables still. I saw all of these last weeknd. 1 has a 2012 cvo Red street glide. Man tha SG is a sweet bike. Wish I had an extra 34K to put into my garage. It would look really good next to the cvo Rg.

Wolverine,
I am looking for a red SESG. Do you know if this bike is still at the dealership?

Rossmeyer's Destination had about a dozen on the floor the last time I was there, Softails, baggers, dynas and vee rods
of all years.

ready for your purchase,  Just pay over normal street price... LOL

They buy CVO's from small dealers at MSRP and resell at $5 to $15K over (at least used to)
to bike event people, they see the color and model they want and bam, get bent over the table..

Dealer has had this on Ebay for a few months:

In the picture below, which shows the rear fender and mufflers:  What is that ugly-a$$ thing hanging at the bottom of the fender?
