Soooo......   Basically what we're sayin' is:  This thing should have been flexed and heated a bit more than it was. (which is a terrible shame, since that means the bike isn't being riden near 'nuff)  So, in my exalted opinion, I believe a couple of burn-outs and a nice run through the twisties, followed by a close examination of the flank area is called for.  This will enable all possible "blooming" for the tire.  This should be addressed with caution as the interest point seems to kick in at the 2/32" point.  (not to be confused with the 1/16" point, which is entirely different in so many ways....)  Followed by more enthusiastic riding, if the desired condition has not yet been met.  Once a SUBSTANTIAL amount of riding has occurred, (oh, say 8-10k miles) if the tire has not successfully "bloomed", replace the durn thing.  (it'll be worn out anyway.  ;)  )

I guess what I'm really getting to is....   I would just ride them.  Tires crack a bit on the sides if you don't ride a lot.  My dirt bikes do it all the time, and I just ride the piss out of them until theres just no knobby bits left.  Never had one fail. I know completely different issue, but somehow the same. The picture I saw is not that bad and I wouldn't worry about.  (NOTE,  All I'm seein' is a picture, so it could be a LOT worse in person)
