How is the low fuel light hooked up. Mine stopped working after the first tank of fuel.

I would think it works off the sender in the tank.
I don't know if there is a seperate light in the speedo gauge for that or the light is self contained in the gauge itself.

Have the dealer check it out.

The dealer is 130 miles away. If it's a minor issue I would rather not make the drive.

After rereading about the fuel light-My 05 had one but I don't remember seeing one on the 10..  All I Have seen is the fuel/distance remaining..

But, I can't see that well close up either.     :cherry:

Hope you get it fixed if there is one.

It's there it just does not work. I called the dealer and was told it works of the tank float. Going to the dealer next week for a fix.

Did some research and here is what is happening. When my fuel gauge is on empty I still have about 2 gallons of fuel. Is there a way to calibrate the gauge and the light?

My fuel gauge is the same way (and yes, I do have a low fuel light).  Reads empty and I put in a little over 4 gallons.
Hope you get a solution.   I have 16,000 miles and just fill up every 160-200 miles by the tripmeter I reset each time.

There is a way to 'adjust' the float, but to use the term 'calibrate' would be a stretch.  ::) spyder

Yea...it's about as precise as "calibrating" a toilet bowl float... :huepfenlol2:

I'd rather it be this way and have fuel in my tank than to have it the other way around which is how my SEEG is. I use to look to fuel up around every 100-120 mile before, now I have no worries and can go the 160-200 miles range. Heck, I usually am ready to get off the bike by then anyway! :2vrolijk_21:

The more I look at that Yellow Jacket, the more I like it...it suits you... :2vrolijk_21:

I'm more than ready to get off the bike by 160 miles...that's usually a minimum of 2 hours in the saddle, and I need to stretch and see a man about a dog by then, for sure.

When my bike was relatively new I ran it down to about 1 gallon remaining, asked the service department to adjust it to read 1/4. They did and it was fine until I had the tank changed for damaged caused by the tech.
Prior to that it would read 1/2 and take over 4 gallons.
