The reason Harleys are exciting is: when you go for a ride, you're not always sure you'll make it home without a problem.  Kinda like pulling the handle of a slot machine. But it sure gets the adrenalin going.

I did find out this past Tuesday that my bike would start production by the end of this week. So I shot down to the dealer late Wednesday to take another spin on the DEMO to assess whether I wanted the lower seat that was on the bike or the "tall" seat which is about 1.5-2" taller. I chose the taller seat after my second test ride. This test ride I did by myself. I could still fell the left side heat on my ankle even with riding boots on this time. However, it was in no way uncomfortable. The left pull when I took my hands off the bars with cruise on was slightly there, but I couldn't tell it with my hands on the bars (which is normally how I ride) so no biggie.  I took a longer test ride this time and found some curves. Without going into a lot of hoopla for the nay-sayers, I really like this bike.

I struggle with the whole "it's not a Harley" and it "has no soul" thing every day. However, since I am not getting rid of my Harley, I think I will be okay. All that being said, when I get down riding, I am smiling and really enjoy the ride. It's more (TO ME) about the ride and not about "how do I look and how does my bike sound" while I am riding. Agin, this is just me. I am sure no one else thinks that when riding their Harley.

Here are some pics of the DEMO which is the same style and color that I am getting. Since it is being built this week, I "should" have it by Christmas instead of waiting 4-6 months. I'm okay with that.  :drink:

Glad to hear you are getting your bike sooner. Nice that you live in Florida! You can actually ride it in December.

I added a GTL to the stable in July. The only mod's I made were driver peg lowering kit, larger windshield, and in the process of having a Russell Day-Long seat built. I have had zero issues with the bike. As you probably know this thing has some serious gitty-up! You will enjoy the new ride.

Did you get your new seat yet??

Awesome you're getting sooner. Perhaps we can get together at the springs when that beast arrives, so I can decide what I want to do with my two wheeled life!!!!!

Not sure if I'll step upt to the plate or not but if I do I'd like to see about being in Munich to see it built. I think they relocated manufacturing to the Welt in an old F-1 building IIRC. Sure enjoyed the tour on the cars and seeing the build process. The Audi plant in Ingolstat was another great tour as well and the museum is awesome. Didn't have enough time for the BMW museum tour but I hear it's pretty cool as well.

Went there several years ago and it was definitely worth the price of admission.
