Left foot rest flaking after 2 months and 2000k!
HD said will replace on warranty!!
It seems they are thinking it will save them money replacing a few items during the warranty period with what they will save in manufacturing!
The real problems will come when the bikes are out f warranty and it's no longer their problem!
Very short sighted!!!

Did they give you the ol..."we can only warranty one piece of chrome" pablum?  I heard that one a few years ago with the " pores must be sealed"...

They give no ducks...  :D :D

My 1935 HD had one piece of chrome around the voltmeter...no pits, rust or peeling...it had been sitting outside in a leantoo since 1953 when I got it, it shined right up...go figger?

"The pores must be sealed"? if the plating process is done correctly it does just that!

My '12 FLTRXSE has a combination of PC and Chrome.. but all the stuff that was PC'd is the stuff that never peeled! shift levers, brake lever... just like the '09 before it.

I have a 07 SERK 6 1/2 yrs. old, no problems with chrome at all, Sometimes i wonder if the chrome polish or certain types of cleaners have somthing to do with making it peel, bubble etc., I may have polished the chrome on mine 1 or 2 times since i bought it new in Oct. 06, Bike gets washed just about everytime i ride it, I do use a quick detailer, Chrome still looks like it did the day i bought it.  :nixweiss:

2009 SERG, 26k, bought it in Arizona and rode it for a year there, hauled it to Florida for another year, about a year in Arkansas, a year in Chicago no pits, no flaking, no rust. It's now in New Orleans,a little hint here, (wenol polish) have never found anything that covers and actually leaves a protective coating that you can feel. I use it on my muscle cars as well---fantastic stuff (expensive.)

I have an 07 SERK as well. Only problem has been chrome peeling on front wheel. Too late for this to be a warranty issue and the Roadwinder wheel is a difficult shape for re-chroming. I know that mine has not been a polish problem and several other owners have had the same issue - only with the wheels which were apparently manufactured (and chromed) in Korea! It is poor preparation of the aluminium that causes the issue.  :furious2:

I'm having a big problem with this (apparent "plug") for Wenol polish.   Is it in fact a great metal polisher..............Yes it is.  I've used it for many years myself on my streetrod mag wheels and other stuff.  I can tell anyone for sure,  that it does (not) leave a "protective coating that you can feel"

Wenol does put out a follow up product tube of wax that can/should be applied after using the blue or red tubes of Wenol polish.  If I spend 45 minutes or so (per wheel) with Wenol polish,  they will look super (like chrome) for a month or two.............ONLY if you follow that process with their tube of WAX.........will you get several extra months of protection and good looking wheels.    Been there...............done that.............Trust me. :drink:

After 3 years out off warranty both shift levers peel of.
Never saw this in my 94 heritage, which was sold when
buying the FLTRSE3 .
