Installed the new head unit today. Sound doesn't cut anymore but there's serious distortion in the speakers. Dealer thinks its amplifier but I am almost sure it's speakers. Anyways, he ordered amp and I wait again :S

Why can't MoCo just admit the problem and find a solution and just end our misery. Don't they know how much we paid for our bikes and how much we love them?

Mano, I feel for you. Let's hope it all ends soon.

Manolis, it is not the amp cutting out but those two little ear drums shuting down
to save your hearing one  day.  Then you could be the first to own your own STEALTH Street Glide

Just replaced the amplifier today and went for a test ride. Problem still persists. Technician troubleshooter the tweeters own the fairing and turned out that the 2 independent tweeters as well as the 2 tweeters embedded in the fairing speakers are gone. More waiting for me until the speakers are ordered and received. Darn.

Technicians say that it's been the amp all along. The amp is too strong for speakers, it overheats due to lack of proper ventilation and then it could burn down the head unit and the tweeters who have very little resistance (1 ohm).

Anyone heard this explanation before?

Mine just quite half way through a 5000k trip. Started on right side then stopped working all together, 10000 miles on bike, build date Jan 2011, I am not sure if Dealer will cover warranty work, I bought the bike from US and live in Canada, dealer is saying take it to back to the US for warranty work. As far as I m concerned once I have the riv sticker it has passed the Canadian standards and I should get warranty. Even if they were going to cover it they probably would say come back in the fall we are booked up till then.

After reading that there is still ongoing issues, I am going to just change the amp and all speakers Head unit still seems to be working.

Yup...that's what I was told when I picked up my bike last week. My head unit was fried AGAIN. #3 will go in next week. The last time I had a problem the tweeters were gone.
