That doesn't explain why you couldn't get it to make a basic bluetooth connection though.  Something hinky somewhere.

Finally got it connected and can play MP3 music stored on the 550 but not in stereo

Also sync'd up with my iPad so can listen to my entire iTunes library if I carried it with me.  Pretty cool.

How many simultaneous connections can the new lid handle?

I'm learning as I go, but so far I have:

FM radio with six presets (great reception)
Blackberry phone through Zumo
MP3 through Zumo
iPad
Rider to passenger intercom
Bike to bike enabled but not tested (up to four bikes I think)

All I need now is a heads up display with Netflix!

Just my guess, but it has to do with the Bluetooth profiles.

I believe the Zumo's only have a Hands-Free Profile (HFP), which is mono.

A2DP and AVRCP is what you want.

I think what you are lacking in the Zumo and I don't have in in my Sony DSX-300, is the Headset Profile (HSP)

Garmin 660 has A2DP and streams bluetooth in stereo, 550 did not.

Thank you!

Ooohh man.... Great price.  359.99 for the helmet, 319.99! For the B4 comm...free shipping... 40.00 more if I go for the Action Modular... That is the best price so far on them...

I need to test one.  Not sure on the difference on shell style coming from a Shoei... I need to do that before I order one...
