That's a great site to check for anything you're thinking about purchasing that's not specific to your bike.  It is geared more towards the Sport bike or Sport Touring bike group, but they really do some great reviews on leathers, ear plugs, wax/polishes (that's where I learned about Glare).  The great thing about them is they are not beholding to any company, have several testers, and good writing skills.  It's been my "go to" place for any gear I've purchased for a few years now...at least to see if they've tested what I'm considering buying.

So - com'on now guys - how do you like them? Get to try out the BT and tunes yet?

Haven't done a road test yet, but he music sounds pretty darn good in the garage.

Last night I ran a RCA to Mini plug wire from my radio, back under the tank to come out somewhere near the seat. I'll use a jumper to the helmet.
Not the best, but until I find the BT module I am looking for it will work.

My goal is almost complete control from the handle bars.

I will not know until next weekend.  The ones that they had at the local store were Gloss Black and Flat Black and I wanted the one with graphics... so they ordered one and it should be here Wednesday.

From the Shoei that I currently have, the Nolan is a different shape.  Both size Large. Where the Shoei feels more round inside, the Nolan feels narrower.  Peripheral view is much better than with my Shoei.  I love the smoke shield, the fact that, if I wanted, I can put my sunglasses on without problems.  But that drop down smoked shield is pretty cool.  I will have to get use to the new locking mechanism, but just like anything new and different is just a matter of time...  It is lighter than my Shoei which is great.  I forgot to put them side by side to look at the shape and outside size... duh!

Everything about it feels like it is well made. They did not have the B4 comm system, and anyway, that will have to wait until I have more $time... :)

Just for kicks... a video riding from the local HD dealer to The Helmet Shop  8)  .  First test of the camera on the bike.

Most helmets are built to fit an average head shape, which is neither round nor oval, but "neutral".  So most helmets will fit most people.  For those others, you have to shop carefully or you'll be miserable.  Arai is the only hemet manufacturer that I know of that makes helmet models in different shapes "on purpose".  If you have a long oval shaped head, you can have some real problems finding a helmet that is comfortable all day long...you'll have hot spots on your forehead without the right shape.  Or in my case, a helmet can make the ear pieces on my glasses dig into my head after a while.  Hurts like hell.  The Nolan N102 did that a bit after being in it all day.

My Shark helmet is comfortable in that regard, but I did have to do some slight modifications to the forehead part of the liner to accomodate my slightly oval head shape.  Pulled the liner out and sanded away a bit (1/16" or so) of foam to eliminate a slight pressure point about 1.5" above my eyebrows.

I'd like to try on a N-104 in Large just to see how it fits my head.

Duane, I like mine.  Have ridden a couple of times, first just listening to the FM radio with six presets.  Better reception than my radio!  Second time rode with my iPad in the tour pack and again very good sound quality.  Quite frankly with this helmet, I don't know why you would need a radio, speakers and all that goes with it.  JMHO of course.

My thoughts too, for what I spent on the amps and speakers I could have bought two helmets with the B4, went out to dinner a couple of times and still had coins left over.

I'm using a Sony DSX-300 in the bike with the adapter for handlebar controls. This radio has a tray that stores the iPod.
Soon as a find a way to bluetooth the radio to the helmet I will be set.

We don't have the B4 bluetooths yet (this week).  Posted my thoughts in an earlier post.  I do like it much better than my N-103.

It does have a different shape than my N-103 but I think I'll adjust to this shape. :nixweiss:

Look forward to getting the bluetooth and tring them.

Several of us should have our bluetooths by the time we head out to Death Valley so we should have plenty of opportunity to test drive that 4 person intercom system in the mountains and in the desert. :2vrolijk_21:

I've always just hung my helmet off the throttle grip.  Mark (Ironhorse) spent a couple of days here recently.....he was very surprised at that and told my I'm to trusting.  Just never been an issue....but if somebody ever took it I'd be pizzed! >:(

I don't know why they wouldn't include it with the helmet, but Nolan makes a tab that slips through the chin strap so you can lock the helmet.

I'd rather have that then the bag.

That is a great idea  :2vrolijk_21: I have a couple of those laying around and never thought about using them to secure my helmet.  Thanks for the idea  ;D
