Sounds like a "Group Review" thread is in order...

Received mine today.  This is my first full face helmet so I can't compare to others, but the fit is excellent, visor, shield and chin bar easy and smooth to operate.  I will put some miles on this weekend and let you know how the vent system works.  Really anxious to get the B4 when it ships.  So far so good

Pete what did they tell you about the B4?

My helmet was shipped yesterday with the B4 installed and tested.

Revilla didn't say anything other than its back ordered and will be shipped when available.  I recall JC saying here that should happen in a couple of weeks.  Original estimated ship date when I ordered was end March.

Since yours is coming direct I assume they are available just haven't been sent out to the distributors yet.

Pete did you get yours from RevZilla?  Paid $350?  Did you order two helmets and two B4 intercoms?

How about you Duane, did you order two?

Once you go Schuberth C3 , is really hard to try anything else. I have had it for a year, I will only change it for another C3.

So.......who you gonna talk to then?   Oh, I know......you're planning a trip to Nor Cal and you got the B4 so you can talk to the rest of us. ;D

We were having a talk about it a couple of weeks ago.  Since the B4 can have four others (with B4) connected at the same time......the guys will all be paired together and then the women can be paired together. :huepfenlol2:

Got my helmet, minor issue right out of the box.

My B4 was installed by Cima.
There is a very thin flexible ribbon connector between the button module and the inner helmet assembly.
This ribbon comes out of the bottom of the module and wraps down and back up the inside and is inserted into a connector. You need to remove the Allen screw in the rear of the helmet and pop the cover off to see it. There is a piece of double stick tape securing this to the helmet. Tech support figured it out within a few minutes and we fixed it over the phone. Next time I put the helmet on it moved enough to break the connection.
I removed the ribbon, repositioned on the tape and re-inserted. Something I think I will be watching. I already think that is a weak point.

My iPhone 4s connected right away, and works as a phone. I cannot get the music to play though. As far as I know the 4s is A2DP and AVRCP capable.
At least from it working seamlessly in my truck (Ford with sync).
Didn't call support back on that yet, I will play around a bit first. Hardwired the iPod/iPhone sound great.
The FM radio is a major improvement over the Cardo SCALA

The phone rings in the helmet with whatever ring tone you use. With my SCALA's the system uses a generic tone.

I got the matte black with red striping. Looks good.
Maybe I'll have my swing arm rebuilt and wheels back on by tomorrow to give it a road test.

How about you Duane, did you order two?

JC - only one for now. Need to have Deb try on the sizes, she did not go to the bike show with me.

Once you go Schuberth C3 , is really hard to try anything else. I have had it for a year, I will only change it for another C3.

I tried out the Schubert' the NYC show. First off, it was a  special at $699, plus $399 for the comms.
The comms, although built by Cardo, no one at the show could tell me if the Schubert version and the SCALA's could "talk" to each other.
What I did  not like about the comms was that the unit was mounted in the removable neck dam, something I would not want to use during the summer.
Side by Side comparisons, the Nolan was a hands down winner.

One feature of the new B4 is that it is capable of using the FRS. It appears from the instructions that in that mode you can communicate with as many people as you have FRS's

Like Duane I'm going to be the guinea pig to see how I like it before I commit on the BSR helmet.

Plans changed slightly on the Norcal trip, can't take the time to ride back, so we'll fly out for a week or so.  Would love to ride with you guys.  Where can I rent a HD?

Oakland dealership......it's right next to the airport and real close to Jim's shop, Metal Dragon (where you're subject to run into any number of Nor Cal members on any given day).  San Jose has an independant rental place that's even cheaper, it's by the San Jose airport.

Duane, what is "FRS"?    I was told that four is going to be the max that you can talk to (provided they all have the B4 intercom).  It would be nice if all the riders in a pack could hear and communicate with the lead bike.   Wait a minute......let me rethink that one. :nervous:

FRS family radio service. Those inexpensive walkie talkies you find everywhere. There apparently are a few that will intergrate with the n-comm

So when you guys get your helmet and comms, pay particular attention to the install when you place the ribbon connecter. Next time i take it apart I'll take  picture. Been apart 4-5 times already.

The unit will work fine then just stop. When you spread the helmet to get it over your noggin it is dislodging the connector.
When this happens the B4 will stay in whatever state it was in prior the movement. In other words, if you have it on and pull your helmet off, dislodge the ribbon, then you can't turn it off.

Maybe this is why you all who ordered it later and got the B4 delay notice - got that notice.

OK Duane, you know the rules........... :worthless:   I don't have a clue what you're talking about "ribbon connector".

And I don't spread my helmet to get it over my noggin........I bought an XL so hopefully it'll fit like my two previous Nolan modular helmets. :nixweiss:  I have seen people grab their helmets by the straps and actually pull apart, as though to spread the helmet.  Doesn't look very comfortable or convenient.
