Before you get to far....an exhaust leak at the head can sound very much like rod knock...  You may want to check for an exhaust leak before you get to far tearing your motor down...   :nixweiss:

If the bike suddenly started making this noise just after installing the headers, I would first double check all clearances with the pipes/frame/brake pedal, crossover hanger, and muffler mounting points.  In addition to checking to make double sure all the connections are good at the heads, muffler clamps, etc.   :nixweiss:

Yes I have put about 500 miles on  this set up.    Mechanic at H|D shop sprayed fluid around all pipes and at header pipe found no leaks.  Really sounds as in the engine or a valve is really making a lot of noisy.

I fully understand.... my 2010 has 27,000 miles and has been in the shop approximately 15 times, 2 of which were over a week at a time.  I've had Harley for over 20 years and have 2 now BUT I'm not brand loyal, I'm loyal to ME and my love of riding.  These may very well be my last harleys.....

Victory
Goldwing
BMW

All have issues, but in my ownership experience of Goldwings, their problems come nothing close to Harleys.

Yes    This may very well be it, do you think this may stop the ping noisy.  that may be why they were trying differ tuner to change up firing a little ????

Those part numbers are for the SE plugs- I think these bikes are even better off with the plain jane OEM plugs, no?
