40056-07 = Touring

40371-07 = 883

Dimensionally the same.  Even priced the same.  The 40371 number is for 883 Sportsters though.  The other is for dressers (Japanese imports).  So very likely significant differences in stitching/belt/materials for belt strength.

And the CVO's have a different part number on their belt from the standard models, as I learned this past spring when one of my friends blew the belt on his CVO Springer (don't ask about the details on that one....lol).

Same price..Same size... If i were a Sportster owner I B replacing my belts with the tougher Touring belt..

Agree...  It's curious the MOCO has two such similiar parts in their inventory with no obvious reason for doing so....

Another case where an inventory control specialist (clerk) can read spec's but doesn't understand interchange.
