Best source for Rio Red paint.
« on: November 08, 2011, 09:16:18 PM »

I have a speaker pod (from Hog Tunes) comes black, I need it to match. Need the experts (yes, you guys) for paint formula/codes, or a place to buy a pint. Like most of you guys I really need it to match and I am willing to spend money to do it right.

Motor1,

You can purchase any paint color from HD thru the parts department at your local HD shop. Good luck and ride safe!

I'd be careful guys.  I tried to buy from local HD dealer and all they can sell on CVO paints is 1/2 ounce touch up for like $70.  I called HD direct and they referred me to PPG (Pittsburgh Paints) who referred me to their local distributor who can't find the paint code in their system (no surprise because it's CVO). The local guy here in West Palm Beach, FL is calling the big factory to see if he can get my code for the Black Diamond.  I'll let you know how I make out.  As for letting a great body shop "color match" your paint....I'm not a fan of that. Good luck

Go to a body shop that actually sprays PPG and has there computer mixing station, if it is current the paint code should be no problem. I had a 05 SEEG and the current 09 SERG and both were listed and they mixed me a pint both times without any drama. Both the colors on the 05 were dead on and the electric orange on current bike also worked out exceptional.
