I'm guessing they were laying on the workbench on their side without the air hose connected? Don't ask me how I know this.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, hdnut,
It's a big secret.  Nobody knows!  They're junk IMO, anyway.  Progressive 440's are the Shocks.  If you're an agressive Rider, there is nothing better.  Later--HUBBARD

I have the 440s on my seeg changed them right away, but I sold them to one of the site members that wanted to try them and in shipping the oil leaked out.I taped up the air hose holes but they still leaked in shipping? Can they be refilled or are they no good now? [smiley=pumpkin.gif]

I was told at the dealership that they're not supposed to hold oil.......that oil is added in the service (is it both 5k and 10k?) and there isn't any way for it to be released so it's just accumulative oil residual.

Now if that can be believed is a whole nother question. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Now wait a minute....I am getting ready to spend a ton-o-cash on Legend Air-Ride shocks. Am I wasting my money? Are the progressives a better choice? Yes, I am aware they serve different purposes, but the ride when at speed around the long sweeping curve is the only REAL issue. So...what say you?

Go with Progressive 440's, they are excellent and make the bike handle beautifully.  I have 12 in standard duty set on softest setting.

Ditto, what he said.  I actually used the 12.5" to (at least in my mind) help save the boards a bit.  Set at about 2 1/2 turns on mine.  Adjust yours to your own feel, however, and you'll love the product.  Granted, you can't make 'em go up and down like a lowrider from the seat like you can with the Legends.  But if it's the ride and not the cool-factor that you're after they really are a great product.

Give them a call or contact Wally's Cycle World where you will get the best price.  I am sure they are available, shouldn't be any different than the SEEG's.  The Progressive website s#@ks anyway.
