Revolutionary Non Sequitar Turbo Encabulator Transmission

Several years ago, Rockwell International decided to get into the heavy duty automatic transmission business.
They were getting ready to tape their first introductory video.
As a warm up, the professional narrator began what has become a legend within the training industry.
This man should have won an academy award for his stellar performance.
Now remember this is strictly off the cuff, nothing is written down. Nothing he says is true, it's all meaningless drivel made up as he goes along.
Our favorite technical innovation might the impressive torque transferring capability of the Lunar Wayne Shafts, as well the seamless action of the Reciprocating Dinglearm.
Know what we're talking about? If so, you must have graduated from the same engineering school as the guy in this commercial. Or perhaps need to take your meds.
Seriously, any gearhead or engineer won't be able to get through this video without a smile.

This video with script

The Chrysler Turbo Encabulator
One of my favorites as it was the era when I went to the Chrysler schools to learn the “encabulator in the video, the Chrysler A-604. And the DRB II  mentioned is a real tool.

The Dodge version, not very funny

Rockwell’s version, also not very amusing. Kind of gets old after the first one.

Having attended many Chrysler “master tech” schools and hearing his voice hundreds of times it was kind of cool to finally meet “Mr. Encabultor” Bud, at the MOPAR school.
The encabulator script has been around since the 40's

This has been around for a long time.  History from Wikipedia:

The original technical description of the turboencabulator appeared dated 24 August 1942 in a pamphlet published by Arthur D. Little and signed by Arthur Dehon Little.[1]
An early reference to the turbo-encabulator appeared in an article by New York lawyer Bernard Salwen in Time on April 15, 1946. Part of Salwen's job was to review technical manuscripts. He was amused by the jargon and wrote the classic description of a non-existent turboencabulator.[2]
Time got with the gag, featuring the device in a May 6, 1946 issue, described as "An adjunct to the turbo-encabulator, employed whenever a barescent skor motion is required."

I have seen a document from GE with drawings that was published in the '40s as well.  My favorite is the Rockwell/Allen-Bradley version.

Okay, I get it.  I'll check with everyone before posting something I think is funny.

I had never seen or heard this and thought it was cool! Thanks for sharing! I think my Wide Glide needs an encabulator of its own.

Next time I'll wear my cage to make sure the tomatoes don't hit... ;)

Actually, I suspected this well traveled group weighted heavily in gearheads would have seen this.  But being a techie, I thought I'd put it out there anyhow.  I saw this thing first time almost ten years ago and it's as funny now as it was then. By the nature of the videos, mostly industry insider stuff.  Those of us not in the automobile industry would not have seen it until more recent years with the advent of Utube.

I'll try it out on some high schoolers next time.  I'm sure they haven't seen it.  Heh!

Pretty funny Ken. I haden't seen it before, but then again I never finished high school  ;D
Kinda sounds like the crap the service managers at HD shops would try and tell me when I brought a bike in with a problem
