Tour Pack
« on: December 08, 2011, 07:57:29 AM »

I see on Harley's web site that they have a colored match chopped tour pack for the SE3 street glides for $1400. What is the difference between the chopped and the razor style? I hear the razor is $2100. And don't say $700.

The difference......the razor is half the size of the chopped tour pack, twice the price and basically worthless. :nixweiss:

I think the Razor Pak actually looks kind of silly. It has hardly any room in it at all. I don't understand the point of paying those very big bucks just to put a 4" tall Tour Pak back there, with very limited usable space... but to each their own.

I guess that's a matter of opinion.  A bike looks better without any tour pack.  And, if you're going to have one.....might as well have one that does the job you're needing it for.  Then, as soon as you get to the hotel take it off and put it in the room before somebody sees it. :huepfenlol2:

For me, I ride alone. It was either the Razor or the King. HD does not make the chopped for the 2010 CVO Street Glides. I did not like the look of the King. I wanted something functional but yet looked different and would set the bike off. So I got the Razor. There is way more room then what you would think. I can fit my helmet (half helmet), my leathers (jacket & Chaps) a sweater and more in it. So between the saddle bags and the tour pack I can carry a lot. I get nothing but positive remarks by other riders and they all say that looks pretty cool and is perfect for that bike. And when I open it and show them how much room it has, everyone always says WOW, who would have ever thought.

Also, it is half the size of the King. Not half the size of the Chopped.

Hmmm, mine has a chopped one from Harley.

I agree that the bike looks better without one but when you need one, it comes in handy. Quick detach for when you don't need it. Not a fan of the razor though from a capacity viewpoint.

When I first started looking at them I checked the parts book and no Chopped was listed for the 2010 CVO. I called 3 dealers in the area and they all told me the same thing. HD does not make chopped for the 2010 CVO. I just now checked both the 2010 and 2011 parts books and there is no Chopped option for the 2010 CVO's. Do you have a part number for yours? Does it have the flames on it ? Did you buy your bike used? It may have an after market or someone took a chopped and had it painted to match.

The Razor is only 1200.00 . Not sure where you got 2100?

Razor makes no sense to me.   Neither does the chopped though.   If you're gonna have a TP, might as well be able to put stuff in ??? it.  Like a helmet. I take mine off if I am staying at a hotel.  When I want to be cool  ::)

I can put my helmet in my Razor along with a lot of other stuff. Makes it much easier to carry into hotel rooms also. :) But like I said, I only have me to worry about, no extra baggage to lug around.  :)
