Stage II Fullsac question
« on: December 25, 2011, 11:29:02 PM »

I have TTS, 1.75 cores & Big Sucker A/C.  Currently at 99.93 & 113.42. Thinking about going to Stage II.  Will stick with Fullsac.  Any suggestions on what I need to get the best performance? Will I get better performance with 2 or 2.25 cores?  How about cams, gaskets etc.?  Lastly, will it help at all with heat or kill my mileage?

Ask yourself what you use this bike for. Touring? Loaded down with passenger? Cruising? Blasting from bar to bar? Short rides? 2-up? What RPM do you like to ride at?
If you are chasing HP with a "touring bike" IMHO you are using the wrong platform.
You really can't beat a well running touring bike, with "road manners" and TQ coming on at 2000-4000. It's not all about the HP queen.
The Fullsac II package is tried and proven with many of us using the combo. No drama, no surprises, works as advertised. Best of all, you can do the install in the garage!
Just my experience with many touring bikes, and long times in the saddle.

You can't go wrong with the Fullsac Stage II setup. I run it and love it. The 54H cams really improve the airflow and let the 110 engine rev very easily right up to red line.

I run the 2" cores - which provide good power and are loud when I get on it, but are fairly quiet when cruising. Good compromise between sound and poser. Fullsac told me that the 2 1/4" cores will not provide quite as good low-RPM torque as my 2" cores. I don't know about the 1.75" cores. I haven't seen a head-to-head comparison varying only the core size between the 1.75", 2", and 2 1/4" cores.

Steve - if you're in this thread and you have anything to say about your various core sizes and performance diffs you've seen between them, it would help with this topic. Thanks!

I spoke with Steve today and he told me the 2" cores are the way to go with our 110. I was thinking about the noise, but he told me that the 2" were hardly any louder than the 1-3/4".  He said I would like the tone better too.  So that's what I am going with.  I'm ordering mine on Monday.  :2vrolijk_21:   Then the Andrews 54's and a good tune. Can't wait

I have a 2010 CVO Street Glide with CFR slip-ons that has been dyno'd and I am thinking of doing a Fullsac Stage II.  Can anyone tell me what tuning options I have and/or make recommendations?  I am looking to improve performance and reduce heat while maintaining the deep rumble sound of my CFR's?

Sorry, No hijack meant. Just wanting to ask the pros.  ;D

For those that already have done a "sleeper" stage II. I know that on the fulsac website, Steve says: Not required, but Highly recommend .030 Head gasket. Anyone out there just do the Andrews 54H without the Head gasket? Pros & Cons Please.
I already have the Andrews 54H cams, will the pistons hit the heads and cause any damage to the Heads?
Steve and anyone else please chime in.

Thanks in advance!

I really don't want to crack into the motor.  So I'm not going to at this time.  I'm really looking for a good strong comfortable ride.  The way I go, I won't really notice a few hp.  :nixweiss:

Yellowbird
The pistons will not hit the valves with the Andrews Cam.
That cam works better with a little more compression, that is why Steve recommends the thinner head gasket.
I don't run the Andrews cam but number of people on this site do. You should see a torque increase and little more Hp.
Easier starting and cooler running engine.

I did the stage II on mine with the head gasket and I reccommend it. You will feel the mild increase in compression. There is a real smile factor! The reason is actually to improve the "SQUISH" I believe which can help prevent detonation with chitty gas! I was a little hesitant to have the heads pulled from my new bike but its been good for me!

Are the head gaskets really worth it? Do they make a difference?? Worthwhile??
