When I bought the Gerbing eXtreme Element pants and jacket Terrie told me "you have the look....might as well get a BMW now....".  How does the new 1600 fit me?

JC,

You know I love ya brother but the answer is NO!

Terrie,

Back him away from the light!

X3... Floorboards and the ability to stretch my legs out to the pegs on the highway bar have spoiled me... can't imagine riding on pegs under me w/no way to stretch my legs out.

Yeah, just because he successfully made the move from choppers to dressers doesn't mean he should consider making this one.  :) har.  spyder

My first bike (Yamaha) had foot pegs with similar seating/foot position... back in my early 20's before knee/hip issues there wasn't any problem w/that position for long periods of time... now... not quite the same.

Easy on the 1600 Guys that machine is a whole lotta fun to ride, it's a crotch rocket hiding in a plastic bagger's clothes. It would make a nice addition to anyone's collection.

Not knocking the bike... just doesn't look comfortable for me... neither would a crotch rocket... my ole arthritic/artificial joint @$$ just can't ride those types of bikes anymore.

Thanks for the pics JC. Am I the only one who does not like the really hugh front wheel? Ness Street Glide rear fender looked real nice, I liked that. Oh goes without saying the girls were "HOT".

No, you're not.  I think that big wheel thing is the youngsters that are building these days.....flashing back to the big wheels of their childhood. :huepfenlol2:  I take photos even of the stuff I don't care for.....as other members here may like it.   My preference is the ol' school stuff......and I like some of the stuff Yaffee is doing for the CVO owners. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Back to sharing the bike show and our weekend with you guys....

Here is Michi and Moto Michael (members of this forum) sitting with Chibs of Sons of Anarchy (those two waited in line for two hours!)....

and here they are with Lyla, the hooker on Sons of Anarchy....

and some art work on display that some of you will recognize from years gone by.....

Back at the bikes.  Jon is going to head back to Stockton and Ron is headed back to Concord.....they're headed for I-5 South.

Michael and Michi, Mark, Terrie and I all decided to go get something to eat and then go for a ride up in the hills....

Jon was happy to get his bike back from Jim after his accident.  I think it was about five months and so he's really been chompin at the bit....

Michi leadin the pack up in the mountains....

L to R:  Mark, Michi and Terrie...

After riding in the hills for a couple of hours, here's a few shots of the sunset as we approached our home.....these were shot while riding my bike at 70 mph.....

as the sunset reflected off of a little lake out in the middle of a pasture......

That concludes our ride for yesterday.  Today the riding continued.....

We stayed up late last night.....just talking.  We all slept in awhile this morning.  Eventually, we got up and had a bite to eat.  Michael and Michi, Mark and I got ready to get on the freeway headed west.

As soon as we got on the freeway we came up on this guy riding an old Honda.....Go Pro camera strapped to his helmet....wringing that little Honda out for all it had....at 60 mph. ;D

Michi on her lil Sporty....

Mark.....the Hawaian cowboy on his trusty steed....

San Francisco bay under a cloudy sky.....

Mark blazing the trail across the golden gate....don't think he realized the speed limit is 45 mph on the bridge.....he's doing every bit of 65-70 mph. :o

As we were riding across the bridge, the skys parted and it begun to clear.  At this point, the Rock (Alcatraz) looked so close....

and of course we had to ride Lombard St.......billed as The Crookedest Street In The World.....

We parked in front of the Fishermen's Wharf Harley Davidson t-shirt shop and made our way down to Alioto's for lunch.  Here are some views from the second floor restaurant....

Fried shrimp and fries and a bowl of clam chowder for me....

and Mark had a fancy name for clams  :huepfenlol2:  and clam chowder in the bread bowl....

a view back up at the restaurant we'd just finished lunch at....

Another nice day and a great ride.  Mark got a hotel room there on Fishermen's Wharf.  I got on my bike and headed back to Sacramento.  We sure hope everybody had a great weekend! :2vrolijk_21:

You can count on that JC it was good to finally meet up with you and Terrie We went on walkabout after seeing you and found a place called the Dive bar with Free food and $3.00   22 oz beers cant beat that comparing to $7.00 for 12 oz at the convention center all in all it was a great day we headed home about 5pm and I swear it was colder going home then than when we left Fresno at 8am and 32 degrees still not convinced to buy the heated gear but definitely a step closer..would have loved to do the SF ride with you on sunday looks like it was fun we like SF my wife Val went to College at SFU and helps me with the navigation... ride soon

32F isn't cold enough to convince you to get heated gear. :o  You must be eskimo. :huepfenlol2:

I'm sorry, I thought you just rode up for the day.  Ron went home after the show yesterday......had I known you two were going to stay, you could have stayed here and rode over to SF with us today.  Oh well......next time. :2vrolijk_21:
