Who makes them, how are they applied? That is an excellent way of removing any signs of the bracket. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

It took me a long time to find what I wanted to do with that area. I finally found the perfect solution...now I am going to share it with just you...don't tell anyone.

Thanks for all the info and photo's , it looks great.
I want to do the same thing to mine. I really wanted an Orange and Black 04 that you could get a detachable tour pack for but was unable to find one. I don't really like to leather tour pack. Reminds me to much of my 99 Roadking Classic bags. Would it be possible to get more info on how you did the work.
Thanks, bagger103

SE_ULTRA, I want to make my tour pak detachable too. Can you post a list of the correct parts needed so I can order them. My local dealer isn't sure since they've never done one.
Thanks

Well there is more to it then just wanting to make your tour-pak removable. Your amplifier for all 4 speakers is back there, so is your CB and AM/FM antenna, as well as the passenger headset connection and controls. So..... if you still want all that to work, you can, but the list is MUCH longer as to what you need. Some guys for example, never use the CB at all, so it just gets disabled, some only use it when the tour-pak is on, so no need to worrk about relocating the antenna. SO what functionality do you want?

What I'm after is having the option of running without that big black box on the back. I don't use the CB, can get along fine without the rear speakers and have an antenna bracket to use. What I'm interested in specifically are the license plate bracket you used and the detachable hardware you installed for the tour pak. I know the stuff I had on my last bike won't work and want some reassurance from you as to what did work.

EZ;
At a minimum you will need:
license plate mount, laydown looks best
Tourpack rack kit 53276-04 149.95
rear docking hardware kit 53804-06 54.95
Antenna relocation kit 76326-00A 99.95

Other things to consider:
You will need to open your fairing up and change the plugs to your front speakers as they will not work without the amp.
If you want a rear sissy bar you will need to purchase that as well as the front docking hardware kit.
With the amp disconnected that leave a large wire harness to stoy away. Also you have the rear speaker pod and intercom harness to deal with. Other members here have removed the amp completely and gone with the Hawg-wired kit so that it eliminates a great deal of wiring when you take the pack on and off.

The Hawg-Wired kit is the only way to go, you should know that hd-dude.

I removed my factory amp and put the 4-channel Hawg-Wired kit in the fairing. I also removed the factory overlay harness for the amp which really cleans up the wire mess. If I ever put my Tour-Pak back on, I will actually hook up the rear speakers  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

All of hd-dude's comments above are right on.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

You will also need..Lower fairing Speaker kit, Chrome inner Primary, Chrome Starter, and numerous chrome bolt kits, The Billetboyz  LED License plate frame is a must (Have to replace that stupid ugly bracket), and Legend Air shocks too....This is a package deal, might as well only get in trouble with the wife  once instead of numerous times.
