Candy, it may be close.  But yours has to look at least a bit more sane.  That thing is just nuts anymore.

Well BamaHarleyDude,
You know how to stir things up. ;D
The question seems simple at first but is really very complicated.
Each owner is going to defend his purchase because more than likely they had to wait a long time and pay big bucks to get the bike of their dreams. (Or at least their dreams for now)
How would you define popularity? By the numbers produced, sold or dealer percent markup, or the resale price of a used one?
Remember that the early CVO bikes were produced in smaller numbers and that was controlled by the MOCO not public demand so total numbers made don't reflect true demand at the time.
Then you have to consider resale price in general but if you look at an individual bike and someone bought it new do you base the price on MSRP or maybe the 6-7,000 inflated price by some dealers. So if a Road King sold for $28,000 MSRP new but the owner paid $35,000 then tried to sell it for $28,000 several years later did he get what he paid for it or did he loose $7,000?
I think all of the CVO bikes and many well modified/ standard bikes are great too if the owner is happy with it and it meets their needs. Some models are great around town while others make better long haul bikes. The problem is they all have strengths and weaknesses since Harley has yet to have a build your own type system we just have to learn the features and learn to live with them or modify them.
I love my 2006 Haze Ultra but I agree with Mrs.WeCVO. I think the 2005 SEEG Cherry has the classiest and most professional looking paint scheme. If you own one it will not be tiring to look at years down the road and won't look like a fad paint job that will be dated.
I also agree with HDBIGMAN in that the RoadGilde is underappreciated.I think due to low production numbers and only having a 95" motor with an early fuel injection system that has since been improved. As far as handling and giving a lighter steering feel a frame mounted faring can't be beat.Yet you can have all the gauges and electronics of the batwing setup.I don't know why their lowers don't have the open and closing vents like the Electra Glide though?
If Harley ever had a "Build your own" program I would love a Road Glide with the 2005 Cherry paint job and a 120" or bigger motor, removeable Ultra tour pak, vented lowers etc.
Just my .02 and opinions though and we all know what they say about opinions. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Considering only the 'stare' factor, I think the pumpkin seeg is the most visible, if not 'most popular'.  If I'm the only pumpkin in a group, even with other CVOs, people stare at my bike more than others. Look at group pics...you can see the pumpkin!  If that's what yer after, get a pumpkin!  Actually, I feel self-conscious sometimes... sorta like my fly is open. ;D

[highlight]NOTHING beats a SERK !!!!!!!You can make an UltraSERK, or a stripped down beach cruiser in under a couple hours out of the same bike. The sky is the limit to how much you can personalize a SERK. And that's not my $0.02, That's a fact Jack  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
Big B [/highlight]

Yeah what Brian said, SERK's also lighter than the other Touring Eagles and I think more versatile. But, hey that's why we have choices. Roll n!!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Brian, actually here I'd bet a a high percantage would actually agree if they got to see them all lined up one beside the other.  I've never had one.  In fact only ever seen three of them ever in person.  But the best looking one ever would be that red ghost flame Road King that is Elvis's sibling.  Hell, that may be the best looking stock Harley ever.

A couple of the Road Glide combinations were stunning as well.  I obvoiusly have a preference for the red SEEG too.  But for just flat out beautiful to look out that red two tone ghost flame Road King is a jaw dropper.

Now of course I voted for SEEG, but let me set the record straight...

The most popular CVO is the one that you get to put the kickstand up on and ride, meet new friends with, go to new places, and most of all come here and shoot the chit w/all your friends about which CVO is the best. JMHO [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Anybody disagree??? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That was an eye catcher, but didn't they stop making that color because of paint problems? Hmmm isn't that a coincidence.... paint problems w/a CVO bike. :-[ Top it off four years later they still can't get it right. :(

Yes sir, they had a heluva time with them.  Never did make anything close to the anticipated production run just due to the paint being too difficult to do.  But those they got out were amazing to look at.

Yes they were. Now being a big as company as H-D is wouldn't you think that they would have at least considered more/better quality control on paint of CVO bikes back when this happened? I'm not a corporate executive type, just a regular ole blue-collar worker. But to me an instance like this that made my company stop a production of a particular color scheme because of poor paint quality would never show it's nasty head again. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Again, just my $.02 worth.

Actually.... D00d; we can almost guess what happened beause it's so damned painfully obvious.  Design and scheduling never shook hands.

Design develops an outstanding but complicated paint scheme.  Beautiful to look at.  But they no beans about production scheduling.  The scheme gets presented to those quite high up the pay grade.  "It's BEAUTIFUL" they say, "We'll sell everything we can produce!!"

So the project is a go.  Bean counters figure what high level price point will sustain what number of sales and makes sure that doesn't exceed the max capacity of average production.  Of course bean counters don't know how to paint.  They only tell those in PR and those high on the pay grades that at such and such a price we can sell X number of bikes and that confluence of numbers maximizes profit for a low production run.

PR pushes the bike and it's associated mystique to the public.  It all goes to production.  The same production that is scheduled on the basis of the standard X number of paint sets per X number of hours.  And now they find out this new set is far more difficult.  Design, of course, never had this worry.  They only had to make the first one.  So production is then left with the choice of telling EVERYONE else in the company that they can't sell this new fancy bike they want to or finding some way to cut corners in production to make it go faster.  So, being both optimistic and under pressure, they cut corners or rely on old "trusted" methods that are out of specification for the new paint design.  And then things like the red Road King or the 06 Ultras happen.
