New seat for my SEEG
« on: July 13, 2006, 09:08:52 PM »

Hey ya'll, I bought a new seat for my SEEG.  Found it on e-bay it is made by Mammoth Choppers.  Put it on this eve.  My first impression is:  I am very impressed with the craftsmanship.  The leather and the flame stitching is first class.  Unfortunatly it is raining here so I am not able to put any miles on this seat just yet however the seat has a very comfortable bucket for a low profile seat.  Hopefully I will still be happy with it after putting some miles on it.  This will be a sport around town seat for me, I still have the stock seat that I will be using with the tour pack for longer trips.  Once again this is made by Mammoth Choppers I paid $182.50 and it is first class craftsmanship.  I hope this helps anyone looking for a sporty low profile seat for there ride.

Gary,
That's nice. I like the flame pattern. Wonder if he can do them in orange? [smiley=idea.gif]

Nice seat Gary, Look forward to hearing a ride report on it. It may be a good Corbin Alternitive.

Gary, looks good [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]!!  Sounds like you got it for a good price [smiley=confused5.gif]?  Let us know if it's a good deal or a great deal after you put some miles on the seat!!

Rode it this morning running errands (trying to take care of the never ending honnydo list).  So far I am very happy with it.  I had a low profile badlander seat on my Dyna Wide Glide and this seat is much more comfortable than that seat was.  Keep in mind that this is by no means a touring seat (but I did not intend it to be when I bought it).  This seat looks fantastic on the bike and is plenty comfortable for riding all day.  With the tourpack on I will go back to the stock seat because the rider backrest has spoiled me for longer trips.  The quality and ride has been better than expected thus far.

So it won't accept a backrest?

Well (says my back), there's one option we don't have to consider  ;D

That is a nice looking seat though.  Hope it serves its duty well for you.

This seat will not accept rider backrest however they (mammouth choppers) are working on one.  I also asked them about colored stitching (orange to match my pinstriping) I am waiting on a reply.  Anything I find out I will post.

Hey spy as you requested here are some more pics.  Ride is of course lower and firmer but like I said eariler I am use to a low profile badlander seat and this is more comfortable than the one I had on my last Wide Glide.  This pic is taken kneeling down to give a true side view.
