My '11 runs 3000 miles or so without seeing any drop on my dip stick... Broke it in like my RC motors, heat cycles and cooling, then run the pi$$ out of her! Over 12K since Aug/Sept. when I bought her.
I would be dropping a 120R into the oil burner when she gets to be too much of a bother with the burning oil. Then your pumkin will be really screamin'!!!!

Some how missed your post untill today Pete. Thanks Pete, that 120R would be sweet but I'd like to get this one right and quit spending money for a while!! Gotta talk to the dealer about making the last job right. That should be fun.

FYI, incase any one is interested. They tore into my bike again and said one of the rings on the back hole was put in UP side DOWN!! Hence pushing oil up into the combustion chamber and out the back little by little!! Well lets hope that does it!! 83 degrees in Arkansas today and I been doing yard work instead of riding!  >:(

That's Crazy! So if you changed your oil and added 5 qts between oil changes, they think that wouldn't be exsessive? I'd have to call Harley on that one!!

That's called a progressive oil change!   :nervous:

yeah me to went on a trip last summer rode it like an animal the whole time used 2qt maybe slightly more in 3000 kms to me thats excessive I think its pumping into the throttle body from the breathers but need time to properly troubleshoot.  nobody and i mean nobody touches my bike so when i find the cause I will inform you of my experience until then ride it like you stole it

If it's pumping that much oil out the breathers, you'd know it because the bottom of your air filter would be both saturated and dripping.  JMHO.

:orange: Got my bike back this past Friday!! Problem found and solved I hope. One of the new rings put in last summer was in up side down pushing a little bit of oil up and out thru the combuction chamber on ever stroke. Time to ride (a bunch) and see what the oil levels do now! So Far So Good!!
