Mine is all good except that I adjusted the fade bar one or two bars to the rear in order to get a little more of a surround sound to mine and a little added bass.  I do not understand why most riders don't appreciate AC/DC tunes.  Maybe I'm riding with the wrong guys.....  :drink:

Starting to have issues with my left saddle bag speaker. The sound goes in and out at higher volumes. Taking it to the dealer to get it diagnosed on Friday.

Thats all I been playing recently. Cant beat getting the rear speakers turned up and a bit of The Jack from Age of Giants pumping out from the iPod. Followed by a bit of Touch Too Much from Highway to Hell.

Found out I have a bad amp (both saddlebag speakers starting cutting in and out). I also had to get a new speaker grill as it was breaking toward the rear of the bike. Took it to the dealer with the ipod working just fine. After the tech was messing with it he broke the connector so I also have a new ipod cable on order. I'm not very happy about that because I'm spoiled with only ever listening to the ipod. Now I have to ride for a week or however long it takes to get a new one in without the ipod. I guess I'll have to connect via the old way with a jack to the aux input.

What settings do most of you use on your iPod?  I am referring to the EQ setting?  do you change the EQ setting on the iPod and mess with bass and treble on the head, or do you change the EQ on the iPod?

I am going to move the fade back a couple of points tonight before leaving work... good idea!

I like the sound, but I think I am not in love with the sound.... yet.  I think it could be just a little better..... more bass without distortion.

5000 miles with no problems. Sounds great. I would like more bass but you can't hear it or feel it over 50 mph.

You're not going to get any bass at 50 mph...the motorcycle is not the best for acoustics, and never will be.  When the bike is sitting still, you'll realize better bass out of the rear speakers because the bags will act somewhat as a resonance chamber.  But, let's face it, a motorcycle is not designed for good acoustics.

Received the saddlebag amp and the ipod cable and took it to the dealer to have them replaced. Good thing the tech was doing the work in the window where I could see him. He started removing the front fairing off of the bike and I'm watching him thinking to myself, what is he doing?? Then he starts removing the amp in the fairing. I had to get the service writer to stop him and tell him the amp for the saddlebag speakers is in the saddlebag. The tech said that there weren't any notes on the ticket saying which amp it was. I told the service writer if he read the ticket it says, saddlebag speakers cutting in and out. Then he took the ipod cable and starting looking in the fairing for where there was one like it. Had to stop him for a second time to let him know that the cable was also in the saddlebag. It was a rough day for me working at the Harley shop.

This is why I never take Buster to a dealer unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE to... I guess for warranty work you pretty much have to, though. I just replaced my intermittently-operating A-rev (really!) VSS with a new B-rev one on my own dime yesterday - just to keep Buster out of the hands of the dealer service dept. No more speedo dropping out, and radio AVC/Cruise/6th gear light all work fine again now!

Luckily, I've not had any audio problems like you have, Jeremey. The only problem I have had was the iPod stopped working at 400 miles. I opened the outer fairing, and found the big iPod connector on the left side had come apart because some idiot at the factory apparently hadn't snapped the two halves together fully... must have been bowling night in York. I snapped them back together so they were secure, and all has been well with the iPod since.

Ken, It's good to hear that you've had no issues with your audio. You don't really think that you hear anything out of those saddlebag speakers but when they're cutting in and out you definitely notice that they're not there. If I didn't have that done via the dealer it would've cost me in excess of $600. The amp cost is $530, the little six inch pig tail that goes from the module to the ipod costs $77, and the speaker grill costs $42. And there's no telling how much the labor would have been. I would hate to get something simple like that repaired outside of the warranty period.

That's why I got the extended service plan on Buster, Jeremey... with tire and wheel coverage. Frankly, I'm not nearly as worried about the drivetrain stuff as I am about all the friggin' expensive electronics on this bike... if any of THAT stuff acts up, I will definitely do a warranty claim on it! I just don't want any more warranty claims in the MoCo's system for Buster than I have to.

Is yours all working properly again? You're right, the saddlebag speakers are most noticeable when they are NOT there, and the sound is only coming from the front speakers... no "cocoon of sound".

I have found that setting the fader two clicks back from center gives me the best overall balance of sound at highway speeds. I also set both bass and treble three clicks up from center, and I usually have the AVC set at 2 when riding solo, and at 3 when I'm on group rides and want the radio quieter when we stop at traffic lights and such.
