Gauge lights
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:25:19 PM »

Has anyone changed out their gauge lights? I have a blue '10 and I'm changing the speakers out and adding the 250w amp from J&M. I spoke with the guys at Dr. V-Twin and I think I might do the gauges at the same time. If you have done it what do you think? I think I will do the radio light at the same time also. Thanks!

Been awhile since I've been through all the (49) pages of this thread - JCZ mods have begun....... but if memory serves me correctly I know there are pictures of his guages changed to blue in there.

Disclaimer - Don't blame me for spending money on all the things you might find in that thread you want to do to your bike. :D :D

Several have changed gauges out to the blue gauges.....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=49833.0

I think I may be the only one that's changed out to the blue Dakota Digital gauges.  They offer more than just blue digital readout, they also offer things like 1/4 mile speed and time, 0-60 mph, fuel read out is in % from 100 % and when it gets down to 9% it starts blinking.

You thought about dropping the K and adding a U in your user name? :huepfenlol2:

Thanks everybody for the info. I just got off the phone with Dr V-Twin and they told me that they couldn't do the tach and speedo on the CVO gauges. I've got the gauges out but stopped since I don't want to do the radio if I don't change the gauges. I'll try harleygauges.com Thanks. BTW JC how do I change my user name? I would like the U in place of the K... :)

Up towards the top of the page, left side, click on where it says "Profile".  When that page opens, on the left side click where it says "Account Related Settings".  Change your username.  Enter your password at the bottom of that page and click on "make changes".

By the way, blue gauges can also change the color in your stereo head unit, also.  See my photos.  They're not the ones that did mine, a local shop did.....but they can do it. :2vrolijk_21:  Dakota Digital gauges are plug and play.

I spoke with harleygauges and I'm gonna send them my tach and speedo then the radio to Dr. V-Twin. Can't swing the Dakota gauges but they do look great and thanks JC for the "how to" on changing my user name! Once I get everything back and installed I'll post a pic

here are my gauges and radio
