Wow, thats a pretty good comparison between chopped and king!

Thanks.  Glad it was helpful.  Same bike comparison seemed like it might be good.

All kidding aside about the nickname I do call mine "The Family Trukster" variant when they've the big tour pak on for the obvious reason.  It's amazing how much bigger and bulkier the King Paks make the bikes look.

The handling difference between King and chopped paks isn't much.  A little.  Most noticeable in cross winds.  But not much.  But the difference in appearance (at least to my eyes) is significant.

Having said all that....  If I remember correctly you wrote your tour pak wouldn't be on much.  Just a travel box.  If that's so, and were I asking the question, I'd tell myself to get the King Pak and not worry about the look.

If it's a travel box you're after space.  You'll not see it the rest of the time.  And the space difference is significant.  You can't put anything but a half helmet in the chopped pak.  Even some half helmets rub.  Get a lid organizer on and even more space is gone.  I've packed a weeks worth of clothes and crap in the king pak.  The chopped pak is a weekender.  So it's really a travel box your after the King is the better tool.

Good luck with the choice.  Have fun with it no matter which way it goes :2vrolijk_21: .

I love that seat!  WOW :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks very much.  That pic is the configuration that bike is in most of the time.  It's not a heated saddle so the black seat goes on in cooler weather.  Have a tan ostrich back rest pad for the chopped tour pak too.  So it can swing either way.

Really lucked out with that saddle thanks to TC here on the site several years ago.  He found it used for sale somewhere and let me know.  With the bold gold striping in the bike's red it really works well there.  That's definitely my favorite configuration for that bike.  It's also a very comfortable seat.

My niece calls that the "comfy seat for the girl to ride in back."  She's not wrong...
