I wish H-D would stop the lipstick on a hog marketing. They seem to go through old bike photos and pick what they thought was cool, Like they are selling on their past and getting the bikes we liked as kids but couldn't afford.
They will never attract new, young bikers without new technology. Making the bikes ride better, handle better, and have more power.
The Vrod was the biggest change H-D has had in years and since then we have been waiting for a water cooled large touring bike.....Where is it?????
Also why can't H-D expand the build your own program across the whole model line not just sportsters? That would allow the traditionalist to build a bike just the way they like it and not have a pile of parts. It also eliminates that weird feeling of having to spend thousands on a brand new vehicle just to get it to run right. We wouldn't tolerate that in a new car or truck......

Man, you guys are tough but honest!  That's why I always come here to this site before I do anything with my bike.  There is no other place where a rider can get so much real world experienced advise!

As someone posted above, wouldn't it be nice to order a bike the way you want it, so you don't wind up with a box full of wheels, handlebars, cables, parts that were replaced for chrome, etc. sitting in the garage.  Even you could order the wheels you wanted - that would be an improvement and save some $$$.

This will NEVER happen on touring bikes! They want to HOOK you on Sporties, then reel you in
when you have the money for a touring bike!!! HD makes most of their monies on P&A, and they
know you''ll buy!!

Don't kid yourselves, HD knows exactly what they're doing by not expanding the custom ordering. They get 2x the money because we will buy most of the parts from them.

All about the bottom dollar.

Our only hope is that Indian/Victory makes some affordable innovative bikes to push HD into making something substantially new/different from their norm.
