Nice pics.......how do you read the signs?

Actually learning to read Korean is pretty easy. Now learning what it all means is another matter.

I can make that happen this summer. We have to get special permission for that one. Stay tuned later on.

This would be the gate leading to the DMZ.

Korean outhouse

What? The doors swing right to left. Is that what we want to know?

This is only half the story.  Tell everybody the "hole" inside scoop.  ???

Clue - They don't have rice paper butt gaskets.

They have the real stuff but usually the stalls are empty so you need to have some with you.

I would know this because I partied there in 1982. Before butt gaskets were invented! (Guessing)

The outhouse I went to use had no butt gasket because they had no butt seat on the throne.

They had no butt seat on the throne because they had no throne.

The potter was a squatter.

Well Americans fit right in to that.

The squatters are still there but usually an American style toilet at the rest stops. What part of Korea were you at? I am in the Osan / Cp Humphreys area.

Skillet,
Is Skinny Moms still there in Osan? That was where my Weapons friends at Osan alway took me when I was there. I was stationed at Kunsan 90-91. This whole thread has me wanting some Kimchi and dried squid. Thanks for the pics and trip down memory lane.
