Taller Sissy Bar
« on: March 09, 2012, 12:37:07 PM »

I am looking for a taller sissy bar to keep the BSR comfy. The dealer says that the factory bar is it for the CVO Street Glide. Anyone have any better news or experience ? Thanks

I'll get you the P/N when I get home tonight - I put a taller one one, and a bigger backrest.  Not sure if this is tall enough for you - but I have to imagine there are some real tall aftermarket sissy's out there that will fit in the docking hardware.

Detachable Passenger Sissy Bar Upright - Standard-Height, Chrome

Designed for the long haul, this Standard-Height Sissy Bar accepts a wide range of passenger backrest pads for customizable comfort. This detachable backrest can be installed or removed in seconds, adding versatility and style to your Touring model. Requires separate purchase of Docking Hardware.

  52627-09

This is the one I have for short runs, My BSR still says there is nothing like the tour Pak so we use the tour pak for long rides.

There has to be an after market - my friend who has a cvo fatboy has a really tall sissy he added - I'll chat with him to see if it's on the 4 point dock, and let you know where he found it.

That oner looks good, it will give some back support. Is it attached to the 4 point system ?

I use the taller bar as well.  Same docking points as the short sissy bar.

Yeah fits on the front 2 of the 4 point, and you can use the back two still - I will be home in a couple hours, and give the P/N for the backrest pad.  Others have commented that it looks like the back of a kitchen seat - but my little lady finds it super comfy.  I have no plans to add a tourpac, so this is the route we went.

My friend's real tall one is done by drag specialties - attitude sissy bar http://www.dragspecialties.com/products/?lfr=product%2F50868 , uses plates, not a dock.

If  52627-09 is standard what comes on the FLHXSE2 is it low profile? The picture posted the bar looks alot taller. The catalog doesn't list any specs or sizes. The parts guy at the dealer says Harley doesn't make one. WTF

The one that comes with the bike is a short/low profile.  It's more for a jump around town.
