My lock was doing almost the same thing but I was able to get it to unlock with the key if needed.  It was the wire for the power lock.  Must be common.

The cause seems pretty obvious.  Now the question is, what is Harley going to come up with to eliminate the possibility of the wire jamming the mechanism?  Until they come up with a robust fix, it appears anyone with this system could have a failure.

Happened to me a few months ago. The wire that activated the pins in the neck is wrapped around the pins.  Bike will have to be towed to the shop the disassembled to repair.  Friggin ridiculous!!!

Same thing happend to me on my cuse6 last year sitting at a motel . Had a appointment to do first service that morning, had to call dealer to send  a tow truck,after a 2 hr wait I finally got it to unlock just as the truck arrived,ended up driving it to dealer,they have ordered a new lock for me which I will get installed this spring. I have not locked the bike since.Still have a foot of snow to melt here yet . RIDE SAFE EVERY ;DONE

Mine did the same week ago Sunday,  Got the fork unlocked, but would not start, became a trailer queen.  been down waiting for parts since, hopefully before the weekend.  Bikeweek without a bike is no fun.

Had mine repaired after the same happened to me, locked the forks yesterday and the ign switch was a bit difficult to turn....like the wire was catching again!  Think Im done locking the forks, maybe BMW has figured it out!    Did I just say BMW

It's been 2 weeks and still waiting on parts. Hopefully they will come in this week. It sounds like this is becoming a problem.

Same problem with mine as well. 2011 FLTRCUSE. The ignition switch was difficult to manually turn and I mentioned it when I brought it in for the brake switch recall. It was the pinched wire. They said they repaired / replaced the switch assembly. Hopefully the problem is fixed for good.

I had the same thing happen.  Under the key towards you and llittle to the right there is a small piece that you can move up.  It unlocks the switch and you can practically pull the entire key out.  I did this and put it into fork lock position then put my key in and turned to the unlock position mthen moved it back to the off position.  Have not had the issues since.
