KHD, you are correct. I was proud of that S90 - my Dad had a BSA 650 Lightning. He paid $185 for that Honda. It was for sale on a corner gas station in Whittier, CA by the gas station attendent. He was around 19 years old and was selling the bike because he was leaving for Viet Nam. I'll never forget him. He helped us bring the bike home nearly 30 miles away. Things were different then. You could bring folks you didn't know back to the house in those days.
I couldn't wait to get home from school everyday to ride that bike. Those are empty lots that eventually were built on. Sonny and Cher lived down the block and on the weekends Sonny and his friends would come out and ride on the lots with their BSA's and Triumphs. It was a big deal for me back then, something I'll never forget. He was friendly and always treated the kids respectfully. In those days, most of my riding was confined to the dirt lots. Great memories...
And history repeats itself. I sold my 05 Ultra two weeks ago to a man I never met. He was from Canada and wired the money to me before he even saw my bike. He was a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman. I picked him up at LAX and drove him back to our home. He rode the Ultra back to Canada. He finally wrote me the other day and said the ride was great and the bike performed flawlessly. A good guy got a great bike:
