Great ride report Terry.  Beautiful area back there.  Like many places in this country, until I see photos, I just never had any idea......

I see you got the multi pics per post thing going. :2vrolijk_21:

I took some of the guys over this road back when they came down for the races...it's a fun road, and can be pretty challenging, with some off camber and decreasing radius turns, not to mention 90 degree curves uphill...

Damn, Terry, you're givin' JC a run for the money with this ride report.  Nice job!! :2vrolijk_21:  Your pics are super-crisp and the colors are awesome!  I want a new camera now.

I thought some of that was looking familiar.  I still remember the ride you took us on.  Looks like I should get back down there for the rest of the ride and some oysters, too, though! :)

Yea, JC....I was trying to over complicate it, as usual.  Trying to use the tag button on here and then copy the link, instead of just simply pasteing.  Finally figured it out though... :2vrolijk_21:

Many people have a picture in their head about a place, and a lot of times it's wrong.  Alabama's official "line" is "Alabama The Beautiful", and it really is a pretty state geographically.  Very different in the Northern half than the lower half, but each has it's own kind of beauty.  While I've always been a mountain person, our Gulf Coast has some of the prettiest beaches you'll find anywhere in the world, as has been reported in many travel magazines.  Politically and culturally?  That's a different story.  The Birmingham area, and north of here in Huntsville, are probably the two most diverse cities in the state...Huntsville because of it's NASA past, and Birmingham because of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which is one of the premier medical facilities in the entire country, with a lot of medical research, and being a teaching hospital.  Birmingham is not too big and not too small, with a lot of Southern Hospitality still left, and plenty of things to do, depending on one's interests.

I have started using the Canon G10 on the bike...the big camera is just too much to deal with and ride at the same time.  I post process in Lightroom 3 (there's a 4 out now, I think), which is an Adobe product.  It is like "Photoshop Lite" in many respects, with an added benefit of great cataloging and database management of your photos.  A versitile tool for processing digital images.

The oysters...as I said, most of them come out of an area on the Florida Panhandle called Appalachicola, where oyster farming is a way of life.  In the right season, there are none better.  I could eat at least 3 dozen in a sitting, but constrain myself to a "bakers dozen" (which is usually 13).  And raw is best...

Everybody knows...Red bikes are the fastest  ;)  I fell in love with this bike the first time I saw it on the showroom floor, as did my wife....we weren't planning on buying at the time, but it spoke to us.  It's a keeper...
