I live in Northern Illinois and cannot find any local dealer who will take a deposit or reserve an 07 CVO Ultra in Orange/Black. My personal dealer who I have bought two bikes from in the past two years told me today that the four CVO Ultras they are getting have already been promised to some "Repeat Customers". This was a slap in the face, especially considering I was willing to put down a deposit to hold the color I want but appearantly these bikes are more popular than I predicted. I just sold my 2006 Ultra which will be gone next week and I am ready to make a move on a new CVO Ultra, even if I have to wait which I expect to. If anyone knows of a large volume dealer somewhere in the midwest (driving distance from Chicago) that will sell me one of these bad boy's I would appreciate the info so I can hopefully become a CVO owner soon. Thanks

One of the guys here in my office just canceled his order for a blk/orange 07 CVO Ultra. Call Bumpas H D in Memphis (901) 372-1121, you can probably get on that one. He decided to go with an 07 white pearl gold, add the upgrades to make it a 110 and save 12K. I'm a CVO nut but I think he made the right choice. Better looking, 6 speed, 110 and over 12,000 in your pocket (priceless).

Try Mobile Harley Davidson in Alabama...talk to David Howell and tell him Terry Crain sent you his way.  They sold me my 06 for MSRP...good people to deal with.

Great News ;D  I contacted Spirit H.D in PA and spoke with a guy (unknown name) in sales who could not help me (getting the bike) but read off the dealers in the Midwest who had received 2007 CVO Ultras in the Blk/Orange. I called all of them with no luck. Either there was already a ten person list or deposits on the bikes already. I threw my name into the bunch with each dealer and within 30 min's I received a call from Sauk Prairie H.D in Wisconsin (Only 2hrs from my house) and spoke with a real nice guy by the name of J.R . He informed me that he had called all ten people on his list for the Blk/Orange Ultra he had just received with no responses. He asked me if I wanted the bike and I said YES. He took my deposit and agreed to sell me the bike at MSRP plus freight and setup. I am sooo excited to get this thing and cannot wait till my 06 Ultra that is on E-Bay sells this week. I will post pic's as soon as I pick the bike up !!! I cannot believe I am going to be a lucky owner of one of these bad boy's.....Now I need to check into insurance for an 1800cc bike. I hope it is not that ridiculous  :-/

Not a problem Bro, from what I understand, if you do not modify your engine from the original size manufactured and installed on you bike, it is a standard rate. It is only when you modify it up that a 50% increase drops on your head. I.E. take a 07 ultra w/ a 96 in it do a couple of mods to bring it up to a 110 and bam, the insurance goes up 50% but if it had come with the 110 from the manufacurer, like the CVO, the rate is the same as the stock non-cvo ultra. At least that is the way it is with Progressive.

Hey Copout--Sauk Prairie HD is a good group of people.  There is at least one member here (Grover) who is a regular of that dealer and has good things to say about them.  The also frequently have 20% off sales on P and A's, and I bought some stuff from them on Grover's recommendation, even though I'm in California.  The folks I dealt with there were top notch, and I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.  They also seem to get stuff earlier than many other dealers.  Every dealer in the San Francisco Bay Area told me in May that no one had the new spun aluminum oil temp gauge anywhere in the Country.  On Grovers recommendation I called Sauk Prairie and they had three of them.  At 20% off.

Congratulations.  If I were in your neck of the woods I'd buy my next bike from them just based on how they treated me on a $130 mail order purchase.

Welcome to the site--and please post pictures as soon as you pick it up.

Sauk Prairie is a customer friendly dealership.  I know Brad and Nancy, both very nice people.  They have the best selection of clothing I've ever seen at any dealership.  They also have outlet store with prices marked way down on lots of stuff.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Excellent. Thanks for all the info. I have never heard of Sauk Prairie until today but what a nice guy J.R was. I hope the sale goes through without a hitch and I cannot wait to see the bike. I asked them to e-mail me some pics of it but J.R had no idea how to do it. Oh well...It is just something I will have to look forward to. Maybe I will sneak up there later this week on my day off to see it and inspect it  ;D

I was thinking that also but it is polished up and clean plus I don't want to take a chance and damage it 20hrs before the auction ends. I just hope I can get over 24k for it. That will help pay for the new bike !!! Here is the auction if interested >>  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Touring-FLHTCUI-2006-Harley-Davidson-Ultra-Classic-FLHTCUI-Spcl-Edition_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ49996QQihZ009QQitemZ190010467447QQrdZ1

An acquaintance of mine bought a bike at Sauk Prarie several months ago too.  Was during some special of some sort they had going on.  He came away very impressed with the dealership and its people.

From what everyone with any experience with them has to say this shop ought to be worth a road trip sometime.  Outlet store.  Great people.  Good work.  It's not a dealership it's a destination.
