Use this to your advantage. Tell them to call all their potential customers that are thinking about getting this color to come take a "look" at your bike on the condition that they give you 30% off P&A you want to purchase that day. Then go shopping!!! ;D

Made a deal with local dealer for the 1st B&O Ultra the day after they were anounced in July.  First said bike should be in the following week but then the delay situation happened.  Today dealer called said bike was shipped Monday & was to arrive this afternoon.   Will go by to take a look tomorrow.  Am having a number of changes made so will probably not pick up until they finish with the mods next week.

hey check our sites for sale area. Some guy has a B/O with 500 miles frim 36K. Fly out drive back be a blast but then you have to deal with all of that great riding inbetween. Good luck

This is the bike I have photos of in the Pictures thread in "O/B and others"....he's local.  Don't know where he bought the bike, as the dealers here in B'ham have not received ANY SE Ultras that I know about....BUT, if the guy paid MSRP anywhere in the state of Alabama, then the normal frieght and set-up fees, then tax...he's got about $35,500 in it, and that is IF he paid MSRP, which around here is a big IF.

So, you can't really blame the guy much for trying to get his money out of the bike....the bike would be AT LEAST 2K over MSRP to start with at either of the two dealers here in town.

I agree. If you want one and your dealer has promised you MSRP and can wait so be it. If you want one now..... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I finally got my B/O on Tuesday the 22nd, I called Harley direct and they kept insisting that ALL of the delayed bikes that were scheduled to ship July and August would ship by the end of August. I can not guarantee anything but sure enough mine was originally scheduled to ship July 10 and it shipped August 18th. So good luck for any of you that had a bike scheduled to ship in July or August because they should be shipped by the end of next week. This goes for B/O and R/B as I confirmed that with Harley as well. I just turned 500 miles today and it is a sweet machine, anyone lucky enough to get one should really enjoy it.

Jeff,
Congrats on the arrival of your new scooter, and welcome to the site. Thanks for the information we have members he patiently waiting the arrival of their scooters, and I'm sure they will be glad to hear the wait is getting shorter. When you get a chance post some pictures of your new ride.

Congrats on the new scoot! Welcome to the site, and don't feel too bad about "Lurking", these dudes post so much good info it is almost impossible to keep up with the reading. Hell, I don't understand half of the technical jargon, but the humor and sarcasm make it worth while.

Ride safe,

I sure hope this is true.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] Not saying it's not by any means, just the wait has killing me since I was to get this puppy at the end of July. If it gets delivered soon, I'm just going to take a week off from work and just ride it. Just like birthing a new baby ya know! A week for maternity leave is appropriate isn't it? Anyway, great news and waiting for Xmas in September.  [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]

I went to the dealer on friday (8/25) and I had a visual, touchy feely..., there doing the prep... will pick my b/o on Tuesday.  It was earlier then both the dealer and i had expected...  i can only speak for myself but yes, they are shipping..  i would like to say:  front caliper came in silver (rest of bike is black and chrome) no trim piece in front of windshield,  no chrome piece in front of radio, rear speaker (no chrome trim), and my biggest -itch,   no chrome screws on motor....... I realize i maybe being tough on harley, but you pay this much and there are little things that would have just made the bike a little more complete.    thanks you for letting me vent

It's a legitimate vent 100.  You think these bikes are fully dressed.  All shiny and complete.  Then set a "stock" model next to one that someone has taken the time, trouble and expense to actually complete with the chrome bolt hardware and windshield trim and other just really small bits and you see a tremendous appearance in the presentation of the motorcycle.  That small stuff should be done at time of assembly.  Especially something like the chrome bolts.  On the 04-06 in some case we actually lose some chrome bits compared to what others would normall have.  The oil line cover, for, example.  If you buy that cover over the counter it comes with a chrome bolt.  We get the cover on the bike, but without the chrome bolt.  It's really quite nuts.

They leave those little things off to let you customize it to your own preference. If they put everything on it, they would have no use for the 700+ page P&A Book. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Yea Fired00d,
No need for the P&A book and you might get into the service department in less than two weeks if they weren't busy installing everything the MOCO left off. ;D

Imagine the service department with only repairs and maintenance to do not upgrades and addons. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
