I have to laugh at the response from the MoCo. "Uhhh yes there is in fact a delay.....uh....its because too many people want them.....uh.....so we decided to stop building them."

God bless America....what a country huh?

That's absolutely fantastic.  That's got to go down as the "quote of the year"!!  We stopped making them because too many people wanted them..... [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

The category for this quote would be "Biggest Line of Bullchit"!!! ::) They think we would believe that a company would slow down production because of demand on a high end product? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] If you believe this I think I know of some beachfront property I can sell you in West "By God" Virginia. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] What do you think Hubbard, you know of a realtor that can assist? ;D

I spoke with Harley CVO on Friday and they told me that they are shipping now but not all paint colors. I want the blue SE Ultra and she told me that it probably wont be available until late august early sept. The SE ultra that is available is the black orange.
I spoke with 5 harley dealers here in Florida (Miami, north and south, West Palm, Treasure Coast, Orlando and Tampa) and they all can't give me dates. Some are already promised to friends of the owners.
If anyone knows of a blue 07' SE Ultra please tell me. I will be on my way yesterday.
Thanks

I assume that you live in Florida....call Don Josey at Lakeland dealer or Jeremy Koon at Leesburg dealer and mention them my name...you get them at MSRP

IT'S TRUE :(Just talked to my local dealer.) My red/blackSE ultra was scheduled to ship on 08-01-06. He said he had just received a fax from the MoCo saying that all Phase I Ultra CVO's would be delayed until Phase 2 due to over production demand????----Why doesn'tt the MoCo just be honest and say "Houston- we have a problem!"??? My dealer says that means I won't be getting my bike until at least late Sept. or probably sometime in October. He assured me that I will still be getting the 1st one from his dealership. I guess a few '07 SE ultras were shipped before they realized they had an "over production demand" problem. Hopefully, whatever the "real" problem may be, they will have it straightened out before I get my bike.

"...delay because too many people want them"....that is a hoot!!  Whatever the problem is, those of you waiting will be better off than having to deal with it after the fact.  Shipment on my 06 was delayed a couple of weeks or so because they were behind from screw ups with the paint on earlier editions...at least when I got mine, the paint was right, so the wait was worth it.

It would be nice if the MOCO would just be up front about what the delay is all about, but they don't want the negative PR at this point.

Maybe we need to read between the lines here on the MOCO's statement regarding over production demand / too many people wanting them.  The rest of the story (as Paul Harvey would say) is that too many people want them produced correctly without flaws.  Guess they could pump 'em out like in the old days, warts and all, but I guess too many people wouldn't want 'em that way.

But yet..... intelligent thoughtful and insightful people still took delivery of the 06s in full knowledge of the fact of an ongoing and considerable paint issue and before any resolution has been decided upon and offered by the MoCo.  In fact to the best of my knowledge that little issue still is not a publicly announced one by the MoCo and is only handled if the owner complains of the problem.  No proactive response at all though.

So, yes, it's wonderful that they are attempting to solve whatever problems they may be having before foisting them on a buying populace all too eager to accept whatever is offered and deal with the consequences later.  But it'd just be nice if, for once, they just stood up like adults and said "we got this wrong and we're fixing it, give us a bit and we'll have it the way you deserve it, thanks."

Here Here Here! You have hit that nail on the head.
But from what I have learned, and am learning still, the MoCo is not going to admit to anything  [smiley=oops.gif]  about their product being anything but stellar.  I mean, they got a buying public that tattoos their name on their bodies for goodness sake.  They don't have to admit to warts at all.  Their product will still fly out of the stores.  Heck, someone just recently said he paid a $3,000 premium to get a CVO bike from 06.  It is ridiculous.
[smiley=soapbox.gif] Ridiculous I say!
Ok, step back down.  I also wish the same as you.   ;)

Sounds to me like there are too many 06's not sold. My dealer has a crimson on the floor asking 30k but I know he will deal. I agree that some of the later CVO's don't have the paint jobs that would represent the product a bit better. I used to like the gold leaf trims. So for 07 I get tranny, engine upgrade out of the box. No wrench to spin which is fine by me. Not as much pizzaz as a built custom but not as much work either.

Hmm, maybe that's why I've got to go see the surgeon in a couple of days. All the time I thought it was my arthritis that was causing this discomfort. Now I find it was because of Twolane pulling my leg and pulled it so hard he pulled the hip joint out of it's socket. ;D
