I hope at least some folks realize Harley's lack of quality and durability isn't limited to the 110 version of the Twin Cam. Spend some time talking with folks who have the TC96 and you will find they have many of the same problems with many of the same components. The 110's had cylinder and gasket issues not found on the 96, but the other stuff like crankshafts and primaries and cam bearings and lifters and so on are the same low quality stuff and subject to the same sort of failures.
Current 110's seem to be no worse than the other Big Twin engine options available from Harley (TC96/103). If you want a more statistically reliable engine, you will likely need to consider other brands. If you prefer a Harley, you just need to accept the fact that the odds aren't as good as they might be with something else. Nothing in life is foolproof or guaranteed forever, so suck it up. If you insist on rewarding the p-poor management of H-D by buying one of their new bikes, just stash some money somewhere to pay for the eventual repairs. If you wish to reward H-D and the dealer even more, buy an ESP instead.
