Just noticed in a recent P&A supplement that the Finned Headbolt Bridge in the Granite finish is now available.

How many years ago did the granite motors first hit the street?

Didn't know that granite had been previously available. I do remember an earlier similar finish called "graphite".

Didn't remember if release was 08 or 09.  Even if 09 that's three years to get a color matched accessory on the street.  A common accessory that already had a casting available and just needed a new paint job.  That's much better than Mother Harley did for the oil temp gauges for the 04-05 instruments.  (facete mode = on) Good for Mother Harley (facete mode = off)

My '08 SERK was Granite.  I believe this was the first year for Granite.

Too funny.  I was thinking of those gauges, too, when I was typing my reply about the year. :P

I just painted a set of black ones for my 09 SERG to match the engine.  Used the harley paint and got it done.  So no need for a new purchase.  Oh well as you all  said it took 3 years to get a matching part.  One more left for someone else to buy.

I was wondering if that would ever happen.  Usually thats one of the first things I would ever buy for a new bike.  I'm glad I waited now.   :2vrolijk_21:
