I had already installed J&M speakers which are 2 ohm. The Rockford Fosgate amps are designed to drive 4 ohms. In the end it was the less expensive route for me...and I was happy with the J&M's.

Not sure where you saw the PBR300X4 for $170.00. That's a great price. Their website states $249.00.

Ok...makes sense now...you are running 125 x 4 @2ohm

Actually..just checked EBAY...tons for sale ...Brand new RF PBR300x4...$155 shipped

A couple of other things to consider. The Arc Audio amp has some nice adjustments that are not on the Rockford Fosgate. Two that come to mind are a crossover frequency setting and a bass boost. If those are important to you, the Arc amp may be the better choice. If not, well..................  ;)

It's actually not too bad of an install, and I hate freakin' wiring, but it goes good if one takes their time. I like my Wetsounds amp (weather resistance ARC amp) and you sure do get used to removing and installing the front fairing that's for sure. 2vrolijk_21:

Looks great. I wish i could mount my amp were you did. I put shallow mount 6 1/2"s speakers on the inside of my fairing rite where your amp is...

Thanks again for the compliments.  :)

One thing I did not mention...especially for those of you who sound a bit reluctant about a do-it-yourself stereo install...I have 25+ years experience as an electronics technician and engineer to utilize. Believe you me...it helped.

Thanks for the write up and great job. Did you ever consider 2 125.2 ARC minis and mount them on both sides of the fairing? Something I was thinking of - not even sure if feasible.

Great write-up and congrats on a beauty of an install.  I am also pondering if I go with the Arc or the RF.  Good news is that Rich is guiding my decision.

IMHO I felt mounting a single amp was easier than trying 2. As I stated in my write-up it's a bit of a challenge to get this beast mounted. Not much room for error. I must have e-mailed and or called Rich a half-dozen times saying "It doesn't fit!". To his credit he was right.......it did.  ;)

That's a shame Tanks. I had to re-install my original BOOM Audio rear speakers because I've damaged 2 pairs of J&M Rokkers.  >:( So far...the BOOM units are chugging along......................... :2vrolijk_21:
