High volume air filter question
« on: April 22, 2012, 09:23:04 PM »

:orange:  I need to replace the high volume filter element on my SEEG and I don't know if I'm supposed to spray filter oil on the filter.  It will be the hd product.   Does anyone know?   :orange:

On my 2010 SESG the air filter was a paper element that could be washed (instructions available online and it has been covered here as well).  I cleaned it a couple of times and it seemed to work fine afterward.  I found a K&N at a local dealer about six months ago (they have only been available for the Ventilator style a/c for a short time) and made the change to a permanent solution.

Guys, he said SEEG, not street glide.

Bear tracks, you need to clarify which filter you actually have.  Is it the round Screamin' Eagle filter that fits under the stock football cover?  If it is, the H-D version of that filter is NOT oiled.  If you have the K&N version it should be stamped with the K&N logo on the plate.  The K&N version does require oil.  If you're not sure, post a picture of it.
